Not at all.

Look at the average minutes played now. Players are doing much more in a smaller amount of time due to the increased pace. Kobe, Bron, etc. were easily eclipsing 40 minutes a game during the early and mid 2000’s to get their numbers while being less efficient doing it.

I see what they're trying to do.. they're trying to lure in more fans. Casuals love scoring/big numbers. Big gaudy numbers and stat lines move the needle

I remember when teams used to hate watching Mike Fratello coached Cavs teams because they would rarely crack 85+ points. Games were ending with 77-72 scores
