they are trying to turn the NBA into euro league with less emphasis on raw atheltism and more emphasis on finesse so cacs have a chance again

:mjpls:

its true, there is nothing wrong with some contact in sports, but they wanna expand their brand so they changing rules to let these soft players from european and other regions come in and have inflated stats making them look great.

Another bad thing is by trying to eliminate as much contact as possible this paves the way for refs to control the game even more now they can just blow the whistle anytime they see some contact. We're gonna see some ugly ass playoff basketball next year.

A company that slaps their logo on team jerseys can give a call and say hey I want you to make their opponents on next match get in foul trouble....1st quarter is over oops the main player has two fouls...back to bench!

We are ten games into this season. Who knows if a lot of these players will be able to keep that same pace.
it's rendered a lot of these stats useless, can't compare a 20 point scorer now to a 20 point scorer in '06
Why do the Coli simultaneously hate the old days yet sound like old curmudgeon white men?

And say shyt that is not rooted in any type of reality like "can't compare a 20 point scorer today versus in the past."

@FireDwaneCasey posted stats from the past to show this is a nonsense point.

Here are scoring charts for entire seasons of 88-89, 89-90, and 90-91

About the same number of players averaged 20, and in 1990-91 you had some super non-scorers averaging 20.

Please make sure you research your thoughts before you say something nonsensical.

Swear to god some of these dudes are just making it clear that they’ve never taken a statistics course. It is way too early in the season to be drawing conclusions based on numbers. The sample size is just too small and leads to too much variance.

For example, Rose’s PPG average went up by 4.5 points after his 50 point game. In 2016-17 when he played 64 games he would’ve had to score 250+ points in a game to have that type of impact :dead:

There is a difference in teams having quality defense and watching guys brick shots.

People like scoring, true, but they also like ball movement, full court action and athletic plays. There are usually some 10-20 posessions for each team every game that are just awful to watch. If its gonna be awful, I prefer to see actual defense being the reason.

With that being said, I'm not quite sure what I really said.....don't ask me how.

Breh the league is shown in over 200 countries. Basketball is the 2nd biggest global sport in the world behind soccer. The NBA is the biggest, richest, and most powerful basketball league on the face of the earth. Their earnings have skyrocketed over the past decade. Now they're going pro-scoring to try to garnish even more appeal. The old baseball adage was "chicks dig the long ball"= scoring. While baseball turned their backs on their stars and shut their shyt down the NFL and NBA embraced it and flourished. You sound like a robot/Spock on some "this is illogical" type shyt. Just put two and two together.
You still didn’t show me how more scoring leads to more viewership or interest.
