Now your just trolling.

:rudy:

How am I trolling? Joss Stone is obviously not on Adele's level which explains why she didn't blow up, but when you look at the level of success she actually did accomplish, do you think she would have reached even that level, if she wasn't a commodity :manny:

white people doing Soul/R&b music competently will always be a good investment if you're a record label... This is just an observation, not a knock on the artist or a slight at their talent...

Did everyone that won an award get a standing ovation?

Why did he deserve one? Because he came out?

If Adele was black we probably wouldn't know about her because she wouldn't be as big :manny:

Dude. This isn't the 50's anymore though. You have to get out of that mindstate. Premier artists rise to the top regardless of Race etc. Where were you when Alicia Keys came through and crushed the building at her first Grammys?

Again. Race plays 0 part. You either got it or you don't breh. :comeon:

You're missing my point... Sure a fat black women can make it in the industry... My point is.. If they were white, they probably would have a better chance at being MORE popular... Commodity factor...

:wtfdraper:I never posted a single thing about Chris Brown, so I don't know why the hell you're typing in caps posting about him for... If anything, this picture is a nonstory because no one knows what was said between the two... That could have been a picture of a friendly convo for all we know... This is why I never addressed that aspect of the thread in the first place...

lol... Dude... I am looking at it from a purely business standpoint..... Where in any of my posts am I saying that black people can't reach success in the music industry? Please show me where I said that?

all I said was, a white singer who is a commodity within a certain genre of music in most cases can achieve more success then they would achieve if they weren't a commodity within that genre of music...

You pointing out Alicia Keys, Beyonce just shows how talented they are if anything.. Which I agree with :manny:

I'll flip it... Lets say a talented Black rockstar was the lead singer of Radiohead or U2... I think those bands might be BIGGER... Because of the commodity factor :ehh:

(bad example because how much bigger could you get than those bands )

Quit back peddaling Melo. When you say a white artists wouldn't be as "big" as they are if they were black is saying same fukking thing as saying they wouldn't be as "successful". And your wrong. FOH with this "commodity" stuff. Look at your original statement. That's WHAT were talking abouy breh. :wow:

Still wrong. Point of emphasis... If a person of ANY color had pipes like ADELE does, they would be recognized. Whitney even through all her life problems was still looked at as arguably the greatest voice we've ever heard. Anybody can sing. But voices like these don't come around every day. Simple.

You really think adele is a special singer dont you? :what:

Should've knocked that bytch out :birdman:

:dahell: Chris only fights frail bytches and gays. Adele woulda gave him that work on national television.

And dumb nikkas...name me a Jill Scott song that could take the world by storm like Rolling in the Deep? Jill is very talented but talent doesn't mean shyt if you're not releasing songs that are connecting with people. Golden was taking the world by storm? A Long Walk? :mjpls: Adele made an album for jilted bytches worldwide with one of the most popular/catchy songs of all time as a single. And honestly, if our soul and R&B artists over hear would give the fukking hip hop beats a rest and work on reclaiming their sound they'd do much better. If you listen to 21 no track has you expecting to hear a Dizzee Rascal bar after the first chorus. It sounds like a soul album beyond just the vocals.

Ok, y'all wanna say Adele has a leg up cause she's white. Fine, what leg up does she have over Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, or any of these other superstar white women? She's fat and only attractive in the right light (maybe :whoa:), and doesn't pander to a gay audience, yet she completely shyt on everyone. Just give credit where credit is due instead of using these same tired arguments...to defend Chris Brown, no less. :beli:

What the fukk do you mean "Look at your original statement"? This entire conversation is spun from my original statement... This is what happens in a discussion...

I said Adele probably wouldn't be as big aka "popular" if she were black...

and then you responded by saying Beyonce just performed at the superbowl... Right then and there is where you started running with this idea that I said black people can NEVER achieve the success of white artists... I never once said that. I did say that a white artist within a genre of music like soul/R&B where they are commodity, could potentially achieve more success then if they were black within that same genre... How am I backpeddling when I've been saying the same thing this entire discourse?

You kept bringing up examples of black success like Alicia Keys as if I ever said black people can't become popular or reach success in the music industry... I never once said any of that... The problem is you're arguing shyt that I didn't even bring up...

This lead me to bringing up another example of the commodity of using a black artist to perform in a genre that doesn't have many black artists just to emphasize my point that is purely a opinion based on business, not some bullshyt like "blacks get no respect" or whatever shyt you kept referring too...
