I think the Super Bowl halftime is a huge stage that has people shook.

They dont pay you and you have 100+ million ppl watching you at once.

If you fukk up or give a bad performance it could be detrimental to your career and you paid for your failure out of pocket.

I think its a collection of those things that make certain artists turn it down.

Drake’s live singing voice is bad and most of his biggest songs have singing in them so I think he denied SB performances because he’d get cooked on live TV with that voice.

On tours you’re fine because its your cult paying to see you. SB is a different beast.
Ehhh artist like Swift and Adele don’t need the Super Bowl as they’re already making bread without it and it will change nothing in their career. They’re big enough at this point in their careers that they can dictate their terms and not be at the mercy of the NFL.

If other artist and rappers have done the Super Bowl with questionable vocal skills, then Drake could as well. The more likely option is that he hasn’t been asked to do so.

I agree on the Taylor Swift/Adele point.

And Steve Stoute confirmed Drake turned it down twice

Super Bowl artists have to do Months of Daily 6 Hour rehearsals to prepare for the Halftime show. I don't think Taylor Swift cares to do that after she came off of a Record Breaking Tour. She doesn't need the money or recognition of the Halftime show.

They probably didn't want to set a precedent for future artist, so I can see why they balked.
Probably true. But they might have to rethink that. Eventually they will have the Verzuz problem - no potential artists left. Either they won’t be big enough for the Super Bowl stage or they will turn it down.

Seems like an issue that can be negotiated. What does the NFL need the rights to it for? Are they planning on releasing a documentary on halftime performances? It’s gonna be on the net permanently anyway.

I think theyd get Ariana Grande to perform before Sabrina Carpenter or Miley Cyrus.

That Wicked part 2 is coming out in November:patrice:

Post Malone is a possibility. I don't think theyd go for Linkin Park without Chester.

You knew the NFL crashed out when Taylor said no, but to be honest after Dot who can top that and plus you don’t get paid for the Super Bowl so there’s no incentive to do if you don’t care about the extra attention

It all comes down to money and control.

Remember, the NFL not only wants the artist to pay the performance, but also wants a cut of the money from the exposure that comes from it in the case of music sales.

The NFL needs Taylor Swift more than she needs them as they’re benefiting in increased female fan attention to the Kelce relationship.
