I don't know if you understand that Adele moved 3 million in the first week, her last album sold 11-12 million just in the states and she's European. Drake is not on her level, I mean perhaps 2000-2002 Eminem but that is extremely questionable.

Yes old people like her and old people buy music, but she has a bunch of fans who don't really care about music. Drake might be hot among the people who are "on", 15-35 category of people who know about trends, go to clubs, listen to a lot of music and on. But Adele has those type of people and the other bigger demography of off-brand, housewife, 38 year old doctor who hasn't been to a night club in 12 years type of people.

I swear DRAKE stans get weirder and weirder every day :heh:

you cats really think that DRAKE is such a versatile great and talented artist that on one song he can be loving and caring - even SINGING the whole track, and the next he can be the toughest trap nikka from the streets?

"oh my goodness! this is a talent and skillset that not even tupac and biggie had! drake MUST be the GOAT!!:blessed:"

:comeon: wigga please. you think DRAKE is going to ever do a world tour in our lifetime? i'm talking about one that needs 3 and 4 legs not just doing "shows" overseas.

you muthafukkas are weird. stop ignoring real life just so you can "feel" good inside about who you like as an artist.

Drake is one of the biggest artist out right now. The thing is people don't buy rap albums but they still listen to rap music.

:patrice: you younger cats i swear...MC HAMMER back in the day was the top earning artist OVERALL. across ALL genres.
he fell off i get that, but do a search and compare drake to Beiber, Timberlake, Bruno, Michael Buble' - Drake ain't seeing them in album sales, ticket sales, $$$$ earned.

yeah I know this is a different era, but success and dominating over your competition is universal. either you are or you aren't, that's got shyt to do with era's and how old muthafukkas are.

yall dudes are like teenage girls over boy bands when it comes to this DRAKE shyt, and some of you are grown ass men :comeon:

well, for whatevr reaon, the hip hop BUYING fanbase has decreased. blame the internet or whatever, clearly the cats that buy rap records are no longer doing it in huge numbers.

hip hop will always be popular around the world for parties, workout music, social events, clubs, concerts - but people don't see it as an art form any more, as something that requires any real skill or talent

I can guarantee you that 99% of people doing the whip and nae nae have no idea what that little nikkas name is, nor do they care about his other body of work..

Adele is a true throwback artist, people hear her music and want to hear what else she has; casual hip hop fans could care less about who sings that song or what their album sounds like, they just want that ONE SONG. :yeshrug:

Honestly I HOPE TO GOD these Drake fans are getting paid to make these pro-Drake claims.

It's beyond ridiculous now.
It's like watching a pedo rapist getting a free get out of jail card.

I swear he could come out of the closet tomorrow and some of yall would turn gay just to show support.

No it was 4 rappers from 4 eras basically with some quotes. None of which had anything to do with being the goat.

All 4 had lyrics that bragged about how nice they are though.

Drake has endorsement but so does Nas in the same fukking billboard. Plenty of rappers among the commercial superstars have endorsements but does are a consequence of their grind. Not the other way around.

Companies are trying to get their brand to shine not the other way around.
Those lyrics on that can were written by Quentin Miller.

Okey, billion dollar international conglomerates are trying to conspire with Netanyahu with their Jewish agenda to brainwash the Ameican youth regarding stripper loving rappers lol.

He's labeled that by millions of people. Nearly everyone says Drake,Cole and the most obvious Kendrick. Old cats on the cold do not reflect the relevant fans of today's hiphop, sorry to inform you on this.

That Rakim, Jay, Pac, Nas or Drake for that matter are great rappers is not a fact. It's subjective, opinions. That the 90s was the best period in rap is also subjective. We reach some type of conclusion by aggregating weighted opinions.

No more like they prefer light skinned faces over dark ones so they push Drake as the "king" of hip hop to push that agenda.

:camby:

Don't but it's true.

I could care less what you accept or not.

Quentin Miller wrote those lyrics on that Sprite can.

Drake is a creation and fraud.

I'm not tell you to stop enjoying his music, just sayin'

:mjlol: congratulations, you've read some books.

but you completely missed the point he was making...Drake **IS** being marketed as a great hip hop artist, that isn't even up for debate

not saying DRAKE can't spit or make good music, but how are you a legendary hip hop artist with songs like this in your catalog?

^^^ bruh this is a pop song and a pop video, there ain't a damn thing "hip hop" about this...

they did the same thing to nicki, urban/black artists had better make pop records so those labels can recoup their losses

there's no integrity with this era, they're doing whatever their bosses tell them; even if you support these artists how can you disagree with that!?

Funny how all of this arguing about how Drake is over-pushed and shouldn't be the most popular artist in the game is going on in a thread that is supposed to be about Adele. People didn't bother comparing her sales to...I don't know... Taylor Swift or hey...it's a hip hop board so Eminem, maybe?

First reply? Drake.

Every thread about anything in the booth becomes a Drake thread somehow.

Probably more posts in actual Drake threads from posters that dislike Drake than posts by them in the threads of artists they actually like.

Wish the Coli had a trending term list to go along with the hottest thread list because it's really noticeable.
