^I look like a "bytch" because i say the "same guy"? You know i was talking about you despite what you wanna try to say. your the only one in here who the comment could have been about.

Because i did not say someone's "username" im a bytch

Ok then

I guarantee if someone had made a thread on Lisa Stransfield some time ago you would not respond(and if you did ...you wouldn't do so heavily) heavily like you love to do in threads like these.

yes you look like a b*tch very much. yes yes.

and if i knew you were talking about me, i wouldve smashed you right then & there. the f**k i gotta play dumb for? lol. its like i said, some of the stuff you claim i said, is stuff that never came off my keyboard. so of course i didnt think you were talking about me.

and you need to ask around. cuz if anything im the person on here thats most liable to make a thread about lisa stansfield. go sit ya dumb @$$ down already.

^^horrible attempt at saving face.

who are these generic r&b singers that youre talking about? and who said that we were referring to them?

go lick your wounds and keep pushing

:shaq2:

Some idiot said Kelly Price is making better music than Adele :deadrose: basically saying Adele is only popular cause shes a CAC

Jeremih, Lloyd, Trey, BIEBER, MIKE POSNER etc all them dudes are generic. Sorry if that hurts your pride but if you think that their subject matter or music sounds distinct or unique from each other, youre lying to yourself. You can try your hardest to make this a race issue and not a GENRE issue, but your argument is :flabbynsick:

Same reason Frank Ocean made a name for himself, by being different, looong before the homo propaganda set in. Same reason Miguel is about to speed ahead of those lames above. Same reason Chrisette Michelle and Janelle Monae are more interesting than Brandy, Monica etc. These people are making cohesive ALBUMS that people want to go out and support.

All of the artists Im praising are pushing the envelope and experimentig

The same argument can be made for generic rock bands, generic house music. :what:

:whew: Youre making this easy for me, with your remedial ass.

those male r&b singers you just listed are really the 1st names that pop in your head? your telling on yourself just like the dikkhead that you are. the sad part is that you thought you were getting somewhere with this bullchit post. then you went on to drop names that arent even r&b. BIEBER? really.

frank ocean aint even r&b. another strike.

anyway, i agree with whoever said kelly price makes better music than adelle. and you throw monica under the bus for no apparent reason but her chit is better than adele too.(and this doesnt even matter since adele is a different genre but you took it there). just because monica & kelly price dont appeal to white people, it doesnt mean that theyre doing anything wrong.

and lloyd came out with his own style. how you gonna sit there and call the bul generic?:what:

youre just bigging up whatever abstract-styled names that you can find just so you can feel like some type of expert. typical practice by white people who go out of their way to feel like coinesseurs of black music. i saw you coming a mile away.

and no disrespect to chrissette michelle but she doesnt sell. you just plucked her name out of your go-to abstract pad.

I like what I like. Im not claiming any type of superiority breh

RnB seems about as general of a term as Rock or Hip-Hop, I dont see how Ocean and Beebs dont fit the mold, but I think I see what youre getting at

I also didnt compare Monica to Adele directly in my post, I compared her to Janelle and Chrisette. You can put Estelle ahead of her too.

Again, there is nothing wrong with Kelly Price or Monica, but in terms of numbers, surely you can see why they arent bigger than they are. They keep it traditional, and they appeal to a specific base (Blacks 25 even 30+, obviously not me)

Thats why they arent going Diamond and getting widespread critical praise. Just because YOUR simple-minded ass likes it more, doesnt mind that the general population should respond to it better.

Our debate basically started by my post where I mention that Adele had bigger and larger production that if Kelly or Chrisette had....they might do larger numbers.

You continously bring this back to race and assume that Im some sort of hipster Pitchfork critic, but Im not. I listen to tons of contemporary and classicRnB , I just prefer edgier stuff. Im spelling it out in the simplest term possible but youre convinced that Adele making a good RnB/Soul/Pop album and getting praise for it is the end of the world

NO. our "debate" started when you was in here kickin that "cliche r&b/soul", "generic r&b" bullchit. similar to your previous post where you tried to dress it up. thats where it started. i dont know nothing about that other chit you talking b.:stopitslime:

you dont see how ocean and BIEBER arent r&b? BIEBER!!!?? this is why i dont take anything you have to say on this topic seriously. then you go on to talk about adele making a good r&b/soul album when she never made an r&b album period. and then you wonder why somebody like me sees this and goes :stopitslime:?? and i made it very clear what my purpose in this thread was like 10 times already. if you still dont comprehend what i was saying yesterday, then thats on you.

you also admit that r&b isnt geared towards you. yet youre up here talkin big chit like youre some sort of expert.

you spoke down on monica because she doesnt move big units. otherwise, i dont even care about sales and dont even pay attention to chit like that most of the time. i could care less about the crossover and getting high ratings from outsiders. f**k that chit.

Adele is a fat white girl doing traditionally black music and getting way more praise than the black artists doing the same thing. Don't worry, I get your point just fine and it's painfully obvious.

I agree. Estelle and Sharon Jones both spoke out against Amy Winehouse for the same reason. It doesn't mean she ain't talented or that she doesn't deserve praise. Of course the irony of her looking the way she does and sounding the way she does, played a huge role in her success but why throw shade on her when she writes her own shyt and carries herself with class and promotes musicianship? Is she supposed to refund the albums everyone bought because its NOT FAIR?

At least she isn't doing the b*stardized mainstream RnB/Pop sound everyone else is doing. I mentioned those "go-to" artists because your argument is very racially driven and I was pointing out artists that are trying new sounds and not re-treading the old. Those are the types of people getting similar praise to Adele, and making similar RnB/Soul INFLUENCED music (because we're arguing technicalities now). If you hate the Fusion that these artists are doing, then thats you, but a lot of people have moved on from the old sounds.

Of course, Dwele and fukking Bieber arent making the same music, but to say that Bieber's recent shyt isnt influenced by Chris Brown, Trey and other POP RnB artists is just denial. Its RnB, and it sucks that its come to that, but it is what it is: a general label we use. Just calling something DERIVATIVE POP isnt specific enough. Just like Gucci Mane and Kool G Rap are Hip-Hop artists. We can argue sub-genres and labels all we want. I like the artists pushing it forward, and I hate the artists that play it safe and appeal to a basic demog, in every genre. For example, I like Melanie Fiona, and I hope she gets more popular because shes different

If you want to make this into a pissing contest of who knows more about RnB, you can have that, thats fine. I dont like boring, re-treaded music, or artists that use the same lame-ass producers and writing pools. Whether its Monica or Usher. I dont care if theyre fukking purple in the face. Im just able to call a spade a spade and not cry my eyes out because the artists I like, aint selling as much as Adele, and some internet heads are giving her praise for it

i stopped reading after the 1st sentence. NO THAT WASNT MY ARGUMENT.

for starters, adele doesnt even do black music, so why would i even be running around here saying some chit like that.

edit: i skimmed thru that bieber mess. just because youre influenced by black music, doesnt mean that you do black music. pop music itself has always been influenced by urban music.

i dont have the stomach to read the rest of this. no thanks.

I don't know why everyone is surprised. Music right now is terrible and even on the RnB side it's water downed. She kicked in the door with a traditional VOCAL album with actual music, not no dance, techno mess that over saturated the airwaves. Her album was Classic and let's be real. She didn't have to take off her clothes to sell. She actually sold with her talent, her voice. As far as her being overrated in spite of Black Artist not getting attention.

This goes to the age old question can white singers have soul. The answer is clearly yes, though it may be not a lot of them, some of them do like Michael Mcdonald, Teena Marie and yes you can add Adele to that list. Her voice is amazing and has a lot of soul. Also the biggest reason the album did well. FEMALES. Whenever a female writes about heartbreak, it connects with so many women. Her LP was a love letter to heartbreak.

Now for her to do these numbers in this era is proof that if you drop quality, people can and will buy it. The same downloading did nothing to her sales cause people actually wanted to OWN This album cause it was quality. Adele dropped a Classic in this era that could very well came out in the 70's, 80's or 90's. That's why it connected. Also though Females drove the sales of this album. If you are a fan of music period, I don't see how you weren't impressed with her voice. It's an amazing vocal and again yes it had soul. Being a black man myself, of course I grew up with amazing soul my whole life. I'm telling you, white people can have soul also and Adele again really did prove it with this album. Also if you look at the Diamond albums of the past, Adele clearly had the right formula. Amazing singles, great vocals and production and amazing replay value. If you look at every album that went Diamond they've all had these characteristic. Also that James Bond song she just dropped was sick too:

Look, I'm one to feel it does take a Classic some time to become one. My personal opinion is 5 years but sometimes we do have Instant Classic that just impact the game. "21" did that, it did win Album of the Year, critics loved it and fans loved it not just here in the U.S. but all around the world. The album some song great writing and producing on it. No to mention she can actually sing. Right now a year later after it was released people still are listening to the album. It's headed to Classic status, it's one of the best reviewed and highest selling albums this century. I didn't make the rules, I just tell it like it is. "21" if not today is on a trajectory for Classic Status.
