They would have powerbombed tom brady in the 80s
Gotta agree...

In the 80s, QBs weren't as protected by the league back then, guys like Brady would've gotten his bell rung more than enough times.Thats why you got guys like Jim McMahon and Bubby Brister who can't remember who they are or where they live anymore , that was the game back then:manny:

If Brady were to release a pass with a LB like LT coming at him from a foot away...he woulda definitely got hammered..just imagine this dude getting attacked by like LT, Reggie White, or Mike Singaltary or Richard Dent :wow:

Plus back then WR's were SCARED to run certain routs depending on who was playing D...guys like Ronnie Lott or Steve Atwater wouldve had a lot of these dudes thinking differently

The game wasn't just about showing off your talent back then, the shyt was completely warped by psychological intimidation based on the ass whoopin you got from play to play

Peterson still needs 5,000 yards to catch Barry.
And 8,000 to catch Emmitt.

Yes, we're all aware that Peterson missed last season.

Emmitt played until 35
Barry until 30.
And Sweetness until 33.

Peterson is 30 right now. And the drop off for running backs hits pretty hard.
Let's revisit this in 2 years and see how he's held up.

Not after a 200 yard game that's clouding everyone's judgment.

Do you have Jim Brown behind Smith and Payton?

I remember watching Jim McMahon's SportsCentury and some DL gave him a straight Arn Anderson spinebuster, fukked him up bad

word. I remember dude sayin that when he leaves home, he can't even remember his way back home or where his address even is...back then QBs just took a pounding.

if you were a QB back then, them bulldogs and wolves came for you...that roughing the passer didn't fly like that back then.

Word its laughable now that Brady will be known as the GOAT.

Marino was out here gun slinging. His quick release is the reason hes the goat. Dude would get the snap and itd be out his hand in a second, dude was probably doing his taxes when the D line got to him.

Barry.
Walter.
dikkerson.
AP.
Jim.
.

He's higher than Jim and lower than dikkerson (who's criminally underrated....I think because he played for the Rams). If we're saying GOAT and partially dismissing yardage (otherwise Emmitt would have to be top 5 and I just don't think he is.)

In my personal rankings?

I think he's as good. But I would rather have Payton. I feel he's a more all-around back.

I see what you're getting at.
I don't look at the all-time rushing list as the definitive list of great backs. But it serves as a starting point.

Jim Brown retired at 29 so it's unlikely he would have had THAT many more yards. He likely only had a few more years left anyway. But Brown retired 50 years ago and is STILL 9th all time in rushing. He led the league in rushing every year of his career except 1.

Peterson is currently 21st. Another 2k yards gets him in the top 10 and then we can debate him. But until then I'm leaving him out. All it takes is one sprained knee and he finishes behind Corey Dillon. So...patience.

What can barry do that AP can't? AP is faster than barry. Stronger. Barry had better teams than AP too but nobody wanna talk about that. If Farve bytch ass didnt choke AP would be a champion
