Gimmie Tomlinson or Sanders

Lt, was a disappearing artist in the off's because of attitude and admin/social issues with the fo.
So, I can't vouch for Lt over Adrian.
Lt is a great afc style back before he was that age.
That signals the end is near.
I don't see him in the vein of being as good as Adrian Peterson.
He suffered from the same thing in the off's.
That the soft ass back with good numbers in Seattle with holmgren was on, and disappeared the same way in the off's.
By playing the bench for whatever reason when he could have made it count and established a legendary legacy.

Also, Walter was a better receiving and blocking back than Lt.
Plus an infinitely better runner out the backfield than Lt, as well.

This post season shyt is trash. This isn't basketball.

Walter Payton has 1 100 yard game in the post season for his career while Marshal Faulk averages 3.2 ypc in the playoffs.

Please keep the "in the playoffs" metrics for RBs in the trash
But they have got the jewelry that makes people forget about what they actually did. LT doesn't.

And those people are simply dumb. Second...Timmy Smith holds the Super Bowl record for rushing yards in a game. Who remembers him?

Man please. RBs were never thought along those lines. That's make believe.

Only twice has an NFL rushing leader went to win a super bowl. Just stop with this "ring argument for Running Backs" :heh:

Its not just about rings. It's about performing on the biggest stage and LT consistently didn't do that during his career.

It was NEVER about rings.

This whole "biggest stage for RBs" was circled around a contrived issue regarding LT. "He had his helmet on the sidelines...injured....not inspiring his team."

Only to find out his groin was detached from him.

Keep using ESPN trash as a long time measure, brehs.

No one ever tied that measure to RBs. That's pure TRASH.

Say what you want but in any sport at any skill position not being a prime time performer in the postseason has to mean something when it comes to historical standing. I don't have to look at Espn to believe that.

It's a DUMB metric, period, to use in football.

football "playoffs" are for one game. A RB doesn't suddenly "leave his skills" behind because its' the playoffs.

Keep those shyt measures to basketball....not football. It's DUMB.

idk about this ring argument in the qb discussion . it can be submitted but i don't think its the automatic trump card.

cause i know if nikkas tell the truth they would feel a certain way if terry bradshaw was put ahead of alot of qbs on the all time list.

after all he does have 4 rings...... more than some atg qbs put together ...:jbhmm:

TYRONE GA!
Barry.
Walter.
dikkerson.
AP.
Jim.
.

He's higher than Jim and lower than dikkerson (who's criminally underrated....I think because he played for the Rams). If we're saying GOAT and partially dismissing yardage (otherwise Emmitt would have to be top 5 and I just don't think he is.)

Jim has the highest yards per game and more importantly highest yards per carry in less games.

He's still the GOAT :francis:

To me, Jim gets docked because honestly if we plug all of them into the same era, this era for example, I'd think he'd be behind those 4.

Like AP, Jim is one of the few cats who could play in any area. No one was close to his numbers for years. And it's not like the game was "easier" then. If anything you could make a legit argument that it was harder simply because of the shyt cats were allowed to do.

Higher yards per carry, higher yards per game (both are very safe records as well). He also has the accomplishments (doesn't hurt his argument) which are insane.

I think AP is a solid 3 right now and the best of his generation. Arguably the best since Barry which I think he is. But he has 5000 yards just to catch Barry.

Agreed, but OJ was close to Brown's numbers. He averaged 4.7 ypc over his career.

Gale Sayers is another one. Can't believe he hasn't been mentioned yet. Only other player besides Brown and Sanders to average 5 ypc (yeah I know he had far less carries).

When you look at what Barry did, with ypc of 5.0 - he did it over 3,062 carries. That's 700 more carries than AP or Jim Brown :wow:
