Na this was an Adult Swim/Max decision. The Japanese Dub is already broadcasted, but for whatever reason Max delayed the English Subs.

Just finished ep 2, solid but nothing spectacular so far. Still want to see something that makes me think Chad Stahelski was involved in the action. Although I do like the free flowing movement of the main character.

Still not really impressed by the story/characters so far, but when the action picks up it's really smooth like in ep 4.

And to your point yea, why can't they just stick with the conventional trope and make the secondary male be like Aki from Chainsaw Man, Megumi from Jujustu Kaisen, Killua from HxH etc. aka the quiet/brooding bad ass to contrast with the dumbass mc.

Nah thank god lol, there’s a trans in episode 4, and basically the theme of their convo is “fitting in” and so he tells her how he was told he couldn’t break barriers because of his skin, but ONE MAN believed in him (aka. This old man they’re looking for)
But yeah, the show is becoming a bit stale. The creator is trying to chase a moment / nostalgia and create a new-age cowboy bebop with (leverage / ocean 11 elements). Gona give it 1-2 more episodes. But the music is the saving point.
Episode 4 also reminded me of this anime (Great Pretender) highly recommend.
kamasi washingtons work on this series is incredible. watanabe has an ear for this shyt

Heard this shyt is hot garbage. People say the dub especially is trash and Crunchyroll/Adult Swim is suppressing the sub

Sounds exactly like Cowboy Bebop which is why I skipped this shyt.
Mid show with a great ending.
