Advanced Warfare runs better on X1: Is Sony mandating 1080p at the sacrifice of smooth gameplay?

There will always be a more discernible input lag at 30 FPS than 60 FPS. There is always the chance it will have to render a whole extra frame after the button press.

There is no way to get as smooth a gameplay experience in a twitch shooter at 30 fps as you can at 60fps.

The refresh rate of your TV and tick rate with the game's servers are also important.

If the tick rate(part of the netcode, how often the game updates with the server and other players position and shooting data) is too long there will be lag kills anyway etc.

You know Meach ain't going to make a thread on Halo combat evolved having frame drops and that's a remaster of a original Xbox game from several gens ago.

Based on a playthrough of the iconic Silent Cartographer stage, Saber's Xbox 360 artwork scales up nicely and comfortably into the full HD resolution, but the move to 60fps causes hiccups on two different fronts: internal simulation tick-rates for certain elements are hard-set by the original engine to a 30Hz refresh, producing scenes with some components - such as vehicles in the opening cut-scene, for instance - updating at a different rate to the renderer, resulting in obvious judder.

At other points, it's clear the engine itself can't sustain 60fps, introducing stutter of a different kind. Other elements of the scene - such as the obvious shadow cascade that sees some very noticeable pop-in - also remain unchanged from the Xbox 360 version.
When we hit the magic 60, the experience is phenomenal, but the dips beneath are quite noticeable, and briefly interfere with the interface between player and machine in terms of controller response. Based on the context in which the dips are happening, it looks like Halo 4 may well be more CPU-limited

Should we make a thread titled "Xbox 1 can't handle a remaster of an Xbox/xbox 360 game?"

There's been plenty of talk about Titanfall's sub-native resolution, but while that is not exactly ideal, the biggest problem we have with the game in its current format is that the magic combination of ingredients that made Modern Warfare work has come slightly off the boil here: the Xbox One version simply cannot sustain the required 60fps. The consistency in performance just isn't there and so the gameplay often doesn't feel quite right.

Is Microsoft sacrificing gameplay for visuals? :ohhh:

Xbox one games need some resolution lowering. :troll:

:usure: you seen the recommended specs for this game.

I'd say both consoles are performing fairly well considering how much power you need for 1080p 60fps on PC
Those specs are due to poor coding which is common with console ports...

This game is doing nothing visually demanding to really warrant those specs...

1080p and a stable 60 FPS should be mandatory on a "next gen console" for a game that looks like that...

i swear to gawd, either these pc niccas lie about computer specs or they BMF every year. they be all up in the threads dancin' n shyt, like their cpus run everything @ max settings...

well first off, no one here is talking about max settings..

theres a big difference between max settings and RESOLUTION AND FRAMES PER SECOND, which is what the thread is about.

also, PC gaming has settings that arent even available to console gamers, especially graphic wise. The companies give you a pre packaged game with non adjustable graphic settings which is what would usually be around the medium settings on PC at the very most, or low settings (like battlefield 3 when it was released would be low settings on PC).

secondly, average computers can run games like this at 1080p 80-100 FPS, let alone 60 FPS. The hardware in consoles are not much, if any different at all than hardware for old aged computers at this point in time, with a few tweaks. Why its so hard for console gamers to understand THAT is whats really mind blowing..

Seriously, outside the memory in a console, not many people would pick up the comparable video card/processor on newegg.com to make a gaming PC..

breh you realize the faster framerate literally makes the game twice as responsive right :wtf:

That's factual facts , not just some fake argument

The image refreshes twice as many times every second halving any input lag by giving more frames to represent player inputs every second

Here we go with the forum devs knowing better than the real ones. What PS4/X1 game you working on again?:usure:
