We got an HBCU grad in the White House currently.
We got HBCU grads as surgeon generals and directors of the CDC
We got enough Black folks in positions of power and influence that this should be our wake up call to start building our networks and hiring our own and especially shunning those who don't hire our people.

You want to go back to pre 1960, where only 15% of black adults graduated from college? The current HBCUs can't support that large amount of black students at any given time, because of lack of funding and lack of housing. The "bootstraps" method ain't gonna cut it anymore.
If white folk gave it, white folk can (and usually will) eventually take it away. Especially programs meant to help Black people. We see it every election cycle when they use Black women as scapegoats for food stamps and housing. Every four years there’s a threat they cut those programs.

So, Black people gonna stop going to state colleges and community colleges now, ?
Very few Black people actually go to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc. . anyway.
This isn't gonna affect the lives of 95% of Black people.
What this should be is a wake up call that we need to INVEST in the HBCUs
Again, we don't need guys like Dr. Dre giving $75 million to USC, we need that type of investment in Black schools.
Maybe this will finally convince folks that we can't keep looking for shelter in White folks spaces.
Of course as things are they can't handle it, but with all the rich Black people we have, we can invest in our schools so they can accomodate a bigger percentage of Black folks

Taxation without representation. Folks on this site don't understand how the country works. Who the fukk wants to pay taxes that go to a state school and at the same time being shut out of going to that school. fukk that!!!
Affirmative Action is more than just elite PWI institutions. It's state schools, workplaces with high salaries, and so on. Soon we gonna have the "separate but equal" water fountains again.
