PC gamers have a false sense of intelligence because they learned vaguely (very vaguely) how a PC works. Then they apply their limited knowledge to any and everything and swear they know what the fukk they are talking about.

They don't know shyt about consoles, how console games work, how consoles work, the word "optimization" has a different meaning in PC than it does in a console space. Power is measured differently, no matter how many times Thats explained, they go back to their default flawed vague thought process.

You can now add TV's to that equation :francis:

I'm not expecting 8bit anything :scust:
The Samsung 10bit panels went as low as $750 last year. So were a few others, this year there will be a lot more 10bit panels for sub $1,000. But if we talking 2.1 g-sync outputs then expert to pay in the $1000, 1500 range minimum. If you can't afford it, Then right now isn't the time to make that leap. Everyone isn't going to heaven :mjpls:

What the hell does "basically 10bit" mean :wtf:

It's an 8bit, supposedly looks good for gaming except who reviewed that tv and what games did they try with it? There isn't much HDR gaming content available, just saying. Because they tried to say it's awesome display but you can't reach "awesome" on an 8bit. They say it doesn't "pop" unless you get a 10bit panel.

That was the rhetoric one year ago within the tv communities. If anyone can confirm this 8bit panel has broken the mold, let it be known so we can eat for the low...
Samsung KS8000 was that low on an employee discount website at the end of the year to basically dump them because at CES they were announcing new models.

I wouldn't recommend getting a 4K TV until next year when HDMI 2.1 gets added to them. It's basically built in G-Sync for your TV and the One X is compatible with it.

If you're getting a cheaper set go with this
TCL P Series 2017 P607 Review (55P607, 65P607)
It's like $650

I don't have this particular tv, but I can vouch for TCL. They are very durable and the quality is extremely good for the prices.

But you are talking 1080p models which is an established standard. When it comes to new standards the company you are vouching for was some shyt :francis:

I've never heard them mentioned when regarding 4k sets. I'd do more research before making that splurge if I were you
I dunno bruh. Yiu might wanna stack a lil more and get a OLED 4k with HDR. 10 bit panel.

All 4k isn't created equal
Oled is overkill tho, you not gonna get a budget oled anytime soon

The B6 and C6 could be had for $1300 around the Superbowl if you used east coast tvs price and did a credit card price match online. That's close enough.

Basically you saying you gotta know someone who knows someone to get it at those prices, which is too much bullshyt imo
You buy the tv on a Chase, Citi, or Discover card and file an online price match using a BS website that will never ship at their listed price. Your credit card company sends you a check for the difference or $500 which ever is smaller. Buy from a place like Best Buy and price match Tiger Direct there and you get a $2000 TV for $1300-$1500.

Y'all seen this $398 4K HDR UHD 120hz set by Hisense? My old 1080 HDTV been acting up and looked at Wal-Mart for a replacement. Should I cop? Looks like only drawbacks is no PIP. Says its a Smart TV. Think I'll be able to stream Kodi to it or some shyt like that? My current TV isn't smart, I just use AppleTV or Chromecast.

Do not buy hisense. Faulty products and bad customer service.

HDMI 2.1 syncs your TV refresh rate to the device plugged into it to prevent screen tearing. The Xbox One X has those ports.

When I found that out instantly I shut down any TV plans I had until 2.1s release. There's a difference between waiting for specific tech you want and waiting in general for better tech.
have they confirmed the xbox will support freesync? I know the hardware can support it, but they'll basically need separate settings for every game in order to support it

Yes they support it and no they don't need separate settings to support it. Consoles and PC are not identical twins :francis:

Eurogamer went into it...

Looking forward, a 4K HDR monitor with FreeSync 2 support really is the best way to ensure optimal results from this feature. In here and now, what we can say is that Scorpio's adaptive sync support is baked in at the system level - the developer doesn't need to worry about it (though they could enable higher frame-rate caps for VRR users if the overhead is there). And on top of that, it works across all Xbox content that runs on the new console - Xbox 360 back-compat titles and Xbox One games.

But it's the longer term outlook that is arguably more important. There's a reason why games target either 60fps or 30fps: both divide equally into the 60Hz output of a traditional screen, meaning a smooth, consistent update. With the display refresh put in the developer's hands, arbitrary performance targets like 40fps or 45fps could be targeted. We've tested both on PC using a G-Sync screen running games with Riva Tuner Statistics Server's frame-rate cap in place and both of these frame-rates look so much better than the console standard 30fps. With games that target 60fps, performance drops down to around 50fps are really difficult to pick up on owing to the lack of tearing and reduced v-sync judder.

it still really doesn't explain how it would work. if a game is capped at 30fps and uses standard vsync, it's gonna take some amount of effort to uncap the framerate. at some point the system also needs to know if all the pieces are in place to enable freesync (most people won't have all the pieces...)

I don't know if consoles use some sort of universal vsync, but just replacing vsync with freesync won't be enough. or at least not enough to fully take advantage of the tech
