How did America cause this problem? Afghanistan was run by the Taliban before the U.S. got there and they weren't democratically elected. Under Taliban rule there was rampant illiteracy, religious fundamentalism that would make a pentecostal look like a puppy, had routine death camps, and rape parties.
This is not like the banana republics where the CIA comes in and replaces a ruler with another then leaves. Afghanistan had the same chance Vietnam had and blew it. They thought Daddy America was going to take care of them. And this is actually worse because alot of people KNEW what the taliban was like and still wouldn't fight.
Your house example is a false equivalency. A better one would be if a gang took over a neighborhood and was abusing the people in the neighborhood. A syndicate decides the neighborhood has some value and come in and starts killing everyone in the gang, in the process the syndicate breaks some store windows and puts out a house they accidentally set on fire, but modernized the community, runs new plumbing, builds some schools, and business. The Syndicate decides it's tired of patrolling the neighborhood and says to the community "we will train you and give you all the money and arms you need for 10 years, and in 10 years we are going to leave."
10 years later the syndicate starts pulling its goons, a year after that gang comes back and takes the neighborhood and the community is asking the syndicate to help them.

These kats don't even understand that many folks have lost entire families in this conflict the last 20 years.
Entire villages bombed. Where the hell you think them US drones, US / Nato planes bombs hitting? Just caves hell naw many blowing up civilian homes and villages.
You got war lords all over afganistan playing both sides. Giving the Taliban and the US Intel. Giving the US faulty intel now a predator drone blows up some afganistan civilian homes with women and children. You got military sweeps where US troops harassing Afghan citizens and shooting up villages a night cause they trying to scout for Taliban soldiers.
Not to mention US contractors and war lords getting gazillions of tax payer money and basically providing nothing. You got money being funneled from the US military and the CIA to Afgan war lords and top ranking Afgan official who ain't even using the money for what its suppose to be used for. They taking the money buying homes in Dubai, Qatar and etc and don't even live in Afghanistan.
This week folks were talking about women's rights being taken now that the Taliban is taking back over. But fail to realize most afganistan civilian women fear was a US plane blowing up their homes killing them or their family. Or a Taliban road side bomb killing them or being trapped in cross fire between US troops and the taliban.
There has been too much misinformation in this story. Most afganistan civilian want the Taliban there and the US gone because it will stop fighting not because they love them so much.
Second the country is incredibly poor and the people make like 2 dollars a month. Cause the infrastructure is totally destroyed. This country has been in constant war since the 1800s due to western and Russian interference.
To say why them folks ain't fighting the Taliban is dumb. When the US didn't truly arm them or give them enough resources. Basically trump agreed to hand over power to the Taliban two years ago and agreed to release 5,000 Taliban troops including high ranking taliban officials as long as they didn't kill any US troops.
So once trump made that deal he basically sealed the Afghan peoples fate. The afganistan army were basically waiting to change sides with little blood shed once the US starting leaving.
Most folks don't know the leader of the Taliban who is saying he is now the president of afganistan was released by the trump administration in the hand over power deal.
Breh this is a total shyt show and happened in Iran, Vietnam, Nicaragua and etc. Same shyt different generation. I don't know why folks acting different or either they don't know history.
