Africa is so insignificant to the rest of the world that most people refer to it as a country.

Op isn't wrong but used a totally incompetent and moronic person as an example. Dude literally referenced a country and state vs country and continent. 
Like others said a lot of Americans are stupid but act like they know it all, see trumptard base.
It shows you just how far you can go in life with purely supreme confidence (irrational). Even if you're dumb as rocks but sound like you know what you're talking about then people will still listen (again see Trump).
When these fools start seeing all these African countries become top 10 in population besides Nigeria and gain power through fed up youth who reject foreign colonizing powers and utilize and cash out on home grown resources then eventually the world will start to put more respek on Africa's name.
I done told yall boys before that these crakkers see the writing on all the wall, every great civilization has rose and fell, literally every single one. That's why you see them scrambling and desperate to turn back the clock with all the fukk shyt transpiring.
Unfortunately for cacs no matter how advanced their technology becomes or declveloped their science gets its still mother nature's world and what goes around comes around.
Even if you ignore cacs becoming an endangered species due to negative birth rates, drug overdoses, suicide rates etc they still won't be able to endure the ever increasing temperature rates that will happen over the next centuries with their turn to red lobster after 20 minutes, allergic to sun asses.

There’s one thing about the conversation regarding Africa in TLR that I don’t get and that’s some seem think that the explosion in its population this century will be beneficial to it’s prosperity which isn’t necessarily the case.
Having a larger population won’t automatically fix the issues these countries face and may only exacerbate them; widespread poverty, resource depletion, environmental damage, etc.
In order for any benefit of population growth to be achieved, they’ll need competent governments (at the very least) which, unfortunately, remains to be seen in some African nations.

I used to get annoyed by this too when I was a kid, but as I got older I realized we're not entitled to space in anyone else's head.
We want recognition? Then distinguish ourselves on the world stage. German's got their cars and engineering; French have their food and wine; English had their navy and colonialism; Mexico has the dope food and vacation spots; China manufactured 90% of the shyt in my house; Japan got the tech; America damn near invented every modern amenity you can think of. Even culturally, America contributed things from Hollywood to Black American music.
