I think the main problem with African countries are the infrastructure, the roads, and the crime. If those three could get fixed I think most of us would go back after school

And heres another thing. Christian aid workers are heavily involved in providing education to the more rural children. But they are also teaching them that contraception is evil and morally wrong. So women are having child after child when they are already on the breadline. And it also exasperates the HIV crisis. Some members of the South African government have admitted that they foooked a virgin as a cure for aids.

:mindblown:

Its a double edged sword with the churches.

Black americans have the influence, but dont really have the means or collective ownership IN north america

Black africans seem to have the means and resources, but most of us are taught to think of them as :flabbynsick:

If western hemisphere black people got together and worked with our african brothers and sisters:ohhh:

The potential is there. The resources are there. The opportunity is there. The question is, will we achieve ever our full potential as a people?

Its so true, infrastructure is that main problem. Lack of roads, corrupt officials in the what I would call for lack of a better word boondocks, and other issues which corrupt our people. Real talk, at least in Morocco(Tafilalt)and Cote D'Ivoire( Gagnoa) we really face many of the same issue other improvished people face.

I think African American are too far removed to really make an impact on the continent, culturally they are American, not under the same cultural belief as most Africans(which are not uniformed). Island people are much more a keen to our cultural then AAs, sorry, it justs the reality. But thats doesnt mean that we cant build culturally crossroads together!!!

Why cant African Americans return to their ethnic homeland and use the skills they picked up to better it? All the while learning about their ancestors culture?

Our people have been in Africa thousands of years longer than they were in North America or Western Europe.

If we spoke with each other instead of about each other, we'd be further ahead no doubt.

Its been ingrained in a lot of western youth that africa is NOT the place to be.
A lot of us dont realize the diversity and overall potential of the continent.
I think as we get older our perception changes a little, but it isn't like many of us take the opportunity to go back and see/learn for ourselves so theres always that fear or doubt.

Gotta start somewhere though

because they have been programmed to buy in the whole "am american" not African thing and considering AA background here in the U.S its a dam shame , africa has tons of potential right now with the right investments

The bolded may be the biggest problem tbh. Our resources are a gift and a curse. Like look at these two links I found

New Oil discovery in Ivory Coast. - SkyscraperCity

More black gold discovery in Ghana - SkyscraperCity

new oil and gold was found, but guess who found them? A British company, and an Italian company:comeon:

and then you have China, and these Portuguese are moving back down to Angola

It's annoying, I wish there was a way for Africans to kick these companies out unless they're benefiting in a major way(which they obviously aren't:no:)
