It benefited the tribes that traded the slaves greatly as they usually got the slaves from tribes they was beefing with and needed more weapons to hold down their resources.

The volume alone doesn’t even make it possible. The precursor to transatlantic slavery (which they always hide) was the shipping of native Americans to Europe as slaves. I guess native Americans also sold their people into history, lol. During the Opium wars - Chinese people were also shipped to the Caribbean. Were they also sold?

With all the big guns & cannons they shipped to Africa to protect their lucrative slave business - you’d have to be an idiot to think they bought the bulk of the slaves. Why buy what you can get for free?

To be fair, the tribes who sold others into slavery weren't hip to the extreme abuse that colonizers were putting them through.

All slavery is immoral IMO, but slavery in Western Africa wasn't nearly as inhumane as the chattel slavery of the NAST.
