nikkas broke they Goddamn neck tryna get in here "see, it started in africa:mjgrin:you don't know African history" only to be smacked in the mouth and reminded that they themselves don't know shyt about African American history.

nikkas been saying forever that Bronx shyt is borderline imaginary and makes it easier for outsiders to claim they did something for you or before you. The elements of Hip Hop can be found all over this country decades before the 70s.

Who the fukk don't know our roots and our innate dancing movements come from Africa other than African and Caribbean nikkas that tell us we have no connection to Africa and that we have more in common with Europeans. But nikkas ain't completely dumb they know how to claim what they want and discard what they don't. When I explain how something seen as degrading like twerking is natural to African people then they wanna separate from us and claim that it's some degradation that originated in America but when it come to something cool like Hip Hop now nikkas wanna connect the dots on the family tree.

I wouldn't be surprise if there is a video out there of Africans randomly rapping back in the 50s...
I can assure you it existed wayyyy before the 50s; for centuries for that matter. Different forms, but was called taassu (tassou) in Senegal. Rhyming in a certain rythm.

Wonderful for African people.

Most Black Americans didn't know what Africans were doing in the 1900's -- especially on a large scale to influence our entertainment.

So I am guessing it's in our DNA --- Due to our ancestors being from Africa -- we are going to have some.. well many.... similarities.

But, did they [Africans] create it in the States -- NAH.
