Ignore for one second that the narrative in the booth is that Kendrick makes music for hipster cacs and Future makes music for the streets. Ya'll really believe Future is the second most popular rap artist in the world right now?

:russ:

Internationally Kendrick is WAY more popular. Depending on where you live in the states, I'd say it could be 50/50 probably lean toward Kendrick because of his suburban appeal.

But focusin on the OP, I'd give Cole the edge over Kendrick for being way more accessible. Makes more easy listening music.

"Nobody listens to Kendrick"

...but he has two platinum albums

"Kendrick doesn't really matter"

...but he's doing festivals and touring nonstop

"Kendrick isn't on the radio"

...yet he still went plat with a jazz rap album

"Future is bigger"

...yet TPAB has sold a total of 1.5mil worldwide and Kendrick does big shows in Europe and Australia

:camby: @ anyone hating at the god. Take a seat.

Why hasnt he done a big tour in america?
Albums sales might phony and that might expose him trying to do that

yea

so kendrick gets more radio play than future in big cities? :ohhh:
No idea on the radio play question. Making the point that you not knowing anyone who listens to him doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things.

They bought those records. nikkas with no legacy and minimal hits aint going (sells only) plat.
But i cant prove,so cook.

But your logic is flawed.
DS2 and TPABF are both plat, why?

I mean with the new rules of streaming.
Kendrick's actual sales + stream should have him ahead of future if he's so much popular

Hmmmm. wonder why not

hes even more ahead of future with the streaming

this is a moot argument nowadays really. and I know its probably only gonna be a handful of thurl posters that dap this.

there really is no culture anymore to this rap chit.

you have your mainstream guys getting the big pushes. and none of them are getting any real burn on the streets. so theres no way you should ever say that a drake, Kendrick, j.cole or big sean are the most popular rappers. they don't have enough delegates from the core audience. and saying drake is the most popular is like saying the same about vanilla ice.

I'm not a future fan at all, but hes the main guy covering all grounds nowadays BY FAR. he deserves the title of most popular rapper in the game PERIOD. well that's if you really consider him a rapper.

What nonstop significant touring is Kendrick doing?

Not one more festival ticket is getting sold because Kendrick is performing

Ok so why isnt he double.
If future sold 344k and went plat with stream-equivalent sales added
then shouldnt kendrick whom actually sold 850k
have enough streaming sales to be double when added with actual sales?
shyt aint matching up

dog illmatic didnt have hits and thats a classic
That's cause it's successfully been fabricated into a classic.
When it dropped,it flopped (proof is out there and on the coli)
While illmatic took 7 years to go plat.
Other rappers (debut) albums were going plat, double, triple in less than a year.
It wasnt a big deal and really isnt a classic. You've been throwing sales around this whole thread to help kdot, cool. When it comes to sales illmatic flopped vs direct competition.
