Gasoline - make sure to use an app and take the opportunity to get gas when its cheap. Even if you have to store that gas in your crib.
Insurance - Dont know the cost
Light bill - Upgrade to more energy efficient light bulbs and make sure to unplug things when not in use. Invest in a 200$ solar panel to charge phone, laptop and other electronics.
Interne - Get the lowest tier or use your phones internet if there is an unlimited deal.
Phone bill - see above
Dog foo - feed the dog scraps and teach him to hunt small animals
My food - plant your own shyt with a small aquaponic system in your house. hunt and kill small animals with your dog and share the food.

Here's how I got it going right now:

Gasoline - $150
Insurance - $128
Light bill - $60
Internet - $60
Phone bill - $45
Dog food - $75
My food - $200

I didn't mention my gym membership cause I'm on contract...it's $80 until next year

Alright nikkas, cut it out.

My rent is currently 30% of my Gross.

Starting next month it's gonna be 40% of Gross cause I'm transitioning into another field and it'll take me about 6 months to get a nice paying gig again.

Thats less than $800 so you may be good. But if your rent is 30 to 40 percent of your gross, you are saying you only make less than $1500/month. Seriously consider trying to get a second job, stash the cash and use it to upgrade your job skills or move, and increase your income or move back home to save money.

Fukk the car, get an unlimited monthly MetroCard that gasoline, insurance, car wash, and any possible repairs gonna take a good portion of the $800. Get a car when you settled down with a woman who has her own stream of income and you got kids...

Buy a big ass bag of solid dog food and some cans on wholesale+some table scraps, cheap and the doggie should be fine. If the dog starts having health problems he gotta go not trying to pay no vet...

Phone bill, get a cheap provider like Metro PCS, Boost Mobile or Cricket...

Light bill, I personally don't fukk with those fluorescent light bulbs they seem to flicker and the white light is trash. Just make sure shyt is off when you not in the room, don't use the AC all day, be smart. Light should be no more than $75 probably a little more in the summer.

Internet/cable, get standard internet which should be like $30 a month and if you got a PS4 get PlayStation Vue. It's $50 a month and you can cancel anytime so you don't fukk up your credit if you miss a payment or are late. 50 channels has most of the things guys watch (ESPN, local channels, MTV), built in cloud DVR, all HD channels...

Food, eat out only if you have too. Last night I had some grilled chicken breast with some Chef Boyardee macaroni n cheese that cost me like $5 to make that shyt was fire. Buy bread, lunch meat, eggs, greens and fruits, drinks, chicken, fish, pasta, canned foods. Don't be afraid to chef it up.

Pick up a side hustle. My bro flips sneakers he gets every new release. He copped the NYC 10's for $180 and flipped them only for nearly $300. One of my other friends cut hair on the weekends, another drives Uber.

Yeah, I should be aiight. But as the article I posted in the OP states, shyt always comes up. So that's why I'm trying to budget hard just to be ready for unforseen shyt.

This job is temporary until I get certified and find a new job in a few months but it's gonna be a tight 6 months.

You need to start feeding your dog people food. Buy chicken in bulk and boil a few pieces for him to eat. You can feed him veggies too. Way cheaper and healthier than dog food, imo. Do you get paid every 2 weeks?
