No, he's a solid mid-carder whether he'd come in now or in 1982. Good wrestler, great seller, decent look... but he looks lost whenever he has to speak.
It's always been my main knock on him. He doesn't translate his Internet/wrestling arrogance into a memorable promo.

Ziggler is now vastly overexposed and boring. When he really got hot, every neckbeard and G was on his dikk though. I was meh about him, but liked his potential after the Swagger b/o.

If he debuted bow, he wouldn't be so overexposed, but still dynamic. It would take more than a WHC title to put him completely over though. :ehh: I'd give him an 80-20 shot at being the next Shawn Michaels. Tolerable as a face, but needed the heel ascension.

Always liked him, even since the Spirit Squad days, but wasn't feeling the two week push during the Team Cena Survivor Series fiasco. The way he was booked and utilized was corny around that time, but the crowd loved him, and even internet fans were hyped. He faltered here and there, but he's overall top 10 in E.

He's definitely unique and talented (though I still laugh at repping 80's metal, Metal at it's worst, and not even getting tags spelled correctly), but there's too many more interesting storylines and gimmick right now. He's not as great as Owens, Neville, Cesaro, Rollins, Brock, or Rusev; but considering Brock is rarely there, Cena and Rollins are out, this is certainly the time to push him. He's paid dues longer than Ambrose and Reigns, so I'm confused with they not doing anything interesting with him. He showed heel tactics during Rusev feud, and went at Cena, so maybe they had plans to turn him and try somethign different. Now that Rollins got injured, he's paying the price of outside circumstances.

As Daniel Bryan said, the main problem with a lot of the new generation is that they're overexposed to all hell. A lot of the wrestlers now would be GOAT candidates in AE. The brand extension has to come back, so storyline could have more of an ascension formula to them, instead of hodge podge fanservice.

They have main event level talents on Superstars for fukk's sake.:umad:

I don't care of you bring back the WHC or now, but you gotta protect your so-called Bplayers if you're not gonna elevate them, in case you need them, and you gotta fairly access who you call A++ players and C to below. Push ego aside and let Paul Heyman bring Smackdown back to its former glory. Haitch can learn to be Heyman with NXT, while Heyman brings own his own successor, hopefully Black or Latino, with love for the ART of wrestling again. Too much merchandising and corporate shyt.

It not really enough main event talent/Upper midcard talent to make a brand extension work

If WWE decided to make him a star then he would be a star simple as that...

It's not like guys like Orton were really chosen by the fans to get mega pushes at certain points

which ones?

i don't think the majority of the guys today would even get a spot on the ROSTER during the attitude era.

In this thread, numerous posters will pretend like Ziggler was never over and wasn't ruined by shytty booking

i think a lot of his support stems from the fact that he is a smark darling. they appreciate him for his technical ability and so they want him to get his fair shake.

but what happens when he's no longer portrayed as the underdog? what happens when they finally give him that push and treat him like he's "the man"? would the fans still be behind him?

is dolph ziggler really "the man"?

Yes it is: (When healthy)

Raw:
:smugcena:
Roman
Orton
Ambrose
Seth
Barockkkkk (PT)
DB (for comparison)

Smackdown:
Del Rio
Owens
Ziggler
Kane (PT)
Taker (PT)
Shameus
Cesaro
Wyatt

Then scale Raw back to a 2 hr show. Divas and Tag Teams work both shows.

Don't laugh, but people I think would've had great careers in reality Era are Reigns, Rusev, definitely Titus, Big E and Xavier, Orton, Jack Swagger (bullying jock gimmick), Cesaro (fleshed out foreign a$$hole), Braun, Wade, and The Usos.

Those listed have either the size or an easily marketable trait. They weren't pushing vanilla midgets or really had a cruiser weight division until X-Pac got over and Jericho showed the style was marketablem
