now i got love for the homie rza but for my money's worth quik is that nikka :myman:

when i listen to the production on safe + sound, rhythm-al-ism, street gospel, balance and options, non fiction, quik is the name, way 2 fonky, and classic 220, to me the production on those albums are miles ahead of what rza was doin' :whew:

now i will admit, i've always been more of a fan of a cleaner and crisper sound so that's 1 of the reasons why quik's production has always been among my favorite along with the fact that quik comes with an r&b state of mind and i've always been far more of an r&b head than hip hop head anyway

but with all that said, who do you think is the better producer? :jbhmm:

RZA easily

i respect that but do you really think it's just that "easily"? i mean, when people say it like that, like "rza easily", i sometimes wonder if they've really listened to quik's production like that because quik is a genius on those boards too, man :whew:

i mean, to go from a song like this

then to produce some shyt like this

then to produce a record like this

do you hear how great this shyt sounds?! :damn:

rza

yeah he doesn't make the quality he used to BUT when he was in in his prime :banderas::banderas:

quick is dope but imo not even in my top 5, and quick is very talented behind the boards. some cats dont like that raw east coast sound so i already know the flame wars are about to take place. op abour to start some shyt

edit: i was just listening to some tical yesterday too and feeling the same way i did way back in 94:wow:

it's quik, without the c

but naw, i just feel like it's a fair comparison because both producers are the best from either side of their coast and while both are great at their own sounds, i just thought it was a fair comparison because both are geniuses and the top 2 producers in hip hop. i mean, these guys were ahead of their peers at the peak of their careers because they always bought some great new music to the table

i've gone back and forth in recent months with premier and rza bein' the goat spot but i now see it like this

1. quik
2. rza
3. premier

I respect anyone and their opinion but when Enter the 36 dropped, then Tical, then Return to the 36, then OB4CL, then Liquid Swordz, then Ironman, then every other dope Wu track in between Forever and RZA did 99% of that shyt....listen. NOTHING, I mean NOTHING ever sounded like that at the time or since.

That run puts him over Quik....EASILY imo

i respect and yeah, that run that rza had was quite a run; especially considerin' he was just churnin' out albums back to back

i just think the more and more you go back and listen to quik's shyt and the more time passes, you come to really see just how timeless his shyt is, just like rza
