Going against Shane McMahon at WM isn't midcard. It shows that he's well-liked and they have a lot of faith in him. In their mind, they're giving him a good spot on the show.

No. CM Punk got these same "opportunities" against The Undertaker at WrestleMania but the bottom line is Punk was never going to be in an actual main event on the biggest show. Edge was only in one main event and that was with Undertaker and if you look at WM24, it went on last but it wasn't the biggest match on the card.

Guys like Punk and Edge are the workhorses, the guys who make other people look good but aren't ever given the ball to run with.

That is the position AJ is currently sitting in and in my view he deserves to be in a higher position than that.
