Nobody "deserves" anything in pro wrestling. It's about putting the biggest money match on top of the card, especially one that may draw in casuals or lapsed fans. Names like Rock, Cena, HHH, Lesnar, Goldberg are recognizable. The people that know who AJ Styles is are going to end up watching anyways no matter how much they say they won't.

:ohhh: you don't say..... well, let me ask you then. How did those names become recognizable? How does the company expect to create these "money matches" for the future if nobody is given that opportunity to go on a run much like the aforementioned were..

Here's the list of full time guys who have headlined mania: Jericho (all the way back in 2002, which is 15 years now and no champ has ever been booked as weak going in. They did a pretty solid job of making his 2012 match with punk seem unimportant too.), orton, cena I guess if he's still full time, roman (who nobody wants near the top of the card), and the miz in 2011, who was booked almost as bad as Jericho in 2002. Sheamus opened the show and had 18 seconds, so he doesn't count. How is anyone supposed to get better when nobody gets any chances to really become the top guy?

Exactly right. Back when the Attitude Era was poppin nobody really knew HHH or The Rock like that, Austin had been the Ringmaster after being fired from WCW and Foley was thought to be washed up. But they had no choice but to push NEW PEOPLE and let them do their thing. A combination of allowing the wrestlers to have more freedom and creative to have more freedom without Vince interfering in everything.

That's how you create new stars. They can't keep running Cena, Lesnar, Orton to the well. They all debuted 15 years ago in this company.

I just don't see them straying from Cena/Orton. This isn't WM 30 where everything fatefully fell into place. They were gonna go with Orton/Batista for goodness sake!

Vince looks to sell out stadiums at WM. He wants big names and names that the casual viewer will know. He has his list of guys. AJ is great but I don't think he's a guy Vince looks at and says 'That's the guy that can get me to ### buys and ### tickets sold at WM". Orton, Cena, HHH, Reigns (for whatever reason), Brock, Taker, any big name part timer (Batista/Goldberg)...those are the guys Vince will always count on for WM season.

Cena/Orton gonna feel like the end of 2013 all over again. :hhh:
"Vince McMahon is gonna make money despite himself. He's a millionaire who should be a billionaire. You know why he's not a billionaire? Because he surrounds himself with glad handing, nonsensical, douchebag yes men like John Laurintitis, who is gonna tell him everything he wants to hear."

I've said it before in other threads. If they don't switch that up, it'll be the 15th time since backlash 2007 that they've been opponents on pay per view :scust:
