Or maybe you just don't know what a metaphor is. Lebron is absolutely a slave in the sense that he works for and is controlled by corporate Amerikkka. You all are being too literal when the comparison is figurative.

I understand the metaphor unlike others on here my problem is we're all slaves in this system not just Bron.

If he would've said the NCAA, I would've been like :ehh:

But professional sports, that allows you to be placed on a pedestal, idolized, and paid 10s to maybe 100s of millions of dollars is not like slavery...

I would've been more impressed if he would've discussed the obvious racial reasoning of a MAX contract that only applies to the NBA
Doesn't the NHL have max contracts as well?

max contracts and salary caps are more for keep teams in check and competitive.

This.... If a man that runs his own shop, has celebrity type influence and a net worth over 200 mil is considered a slave... then I wonder what they think of the guy that works in a warehouse with no holiday pay and only 30 minute lunch breaks ??

Didn't mention a salary cap, only referring to MAX deals...

The NFL has a cap but no MAX deals... The MLB has neither..... :whew: It doesn't make sense on the players end to have something like MAX deals..... Unless.... :mjpls:

And?
what does that have to do with anything?
lots of ppl make more than Lebron.....still don't make him a slave.

he doesn't have to play basketball, he doesn't have to work for the Cavs or the NBA. THese are choices he has made, and choices he can easily walk away from.
Let him walk away from that contract and see what Gilbert does to him. Gilbert let him know what time it was in that letter. Then he went back to play for his ass :snoop:
Let's not forget about what Marge Schott said about Eric Davis and Dave Parker her "million dollar ******s" back in the day, or Sterling's fukkery, and not just that phone call shyt.

I see rhetoric.... but what "actions" are comparable to the institution of slavery.....

Yet I've posted an entire book with a YouTube clip for dummies that explains how not only Lebron but all of these pro athletes are slaves in a certain context. Where's your counter to that argument? You clowns think saying that you don't agree or "I can't take anybody who says that seriously" is an argument.
You posted a person who is expressing an opinion. That same person, never experienced slavery. Nikka prolly didn't even experience segregation. Lebron lives for himself and his family, as do all of these athletes. He has a contract that pays him large amounts of money for services he provides. The bolded makes it impossible to be a slave. When his contracts are up, he chooses where he wants to play, and negotiates the pay. This nikka could quit today, and nobody could make him continue to do anything. Everybody on this planet could be portrayed to be a slave in "some context". So yes, the comparison is bullshyt and inaccurate. And its those same millions that he is "slaving" for that allows him to help other people like him, like putting some of our youth through college, so that they can land good paying jobs, and be able to take care of themselves and their families. :patrice:but according to some of you militants, he must be wasting his money, because they will only end up being ......."slaves". Yall so pro black, at the same time, disrespecting all the people who actually had to go through slavery. Nikkas really trying to compare people who would be killed, raped, beaten, etc, to athletes who are making millions of dollars, and living better than 95% of the entire population regardless of race.

I understand the metaphor unlike others on here my problem is we're all slaves in this system not just Bron.
Exactly..Nikkas acting like they don't have to get up and go work for somebody else. And even if they don't, unless you started your business with all liquid assets, you had to borrow from somebody, so your a slave to them until you pay them back, going by the way some of these militants think.

Let him walk away from that contract and see what Gilbert does to him. Gilbert let him know what time it was in that letter. Then he went back to play for his ass :snoop:

:mjlol:....Clearly you have no idea what your talking about in regards to Lebron. If Lebron retires today, Gilbert can't do shyt. When is the last time a nikka has demanded and received 2 year deals with a player option for the 2nd. Bron has Gilbert by the balls :whoa: . Nikka is opting out every year and getting a bigger salary. Yeah.....Gilbert sure showed him!!!!:troll:

Used to read a lot of NOI stuff in the 90s and they've always considered sports modern slavery, they're right

On the college lvl for sure with the NCAA (basketball and football) but bron didnt go to college so it doesnt apply to him.

99.99999997% of all ppl don't own shyt either.

that still doesn't make any sense

Black ownership.

I think he used an obscenely grandiose metaphor to say what he it but I see what he is saying.

I dont think its slavery btw anyway

Why the NBA & not the NFL?

I'm saying. take a look at the NFL scouting combine. that's more like modern day slavery than anything. they not even getting paid at that point.
