Not familar with it, if it is like the NFL's same thing applies.
They literally strip players into underwear and inspect them at the NFL combine.

Or maybe you just don't know what a metaphor is. Lebron is absolutely a slave in the sense that he works for and is controlled by corporate Amerikkka. You all are being too literal when the comparison is figurative.
It's an extremely distasteful metaphor. It's mad disrespectful to those black people who actually were slaves.

Women got to inspect slaves at the public auctions.
shyt like this is why all athletes are akin to slavery.
I don't know how they could even have a union that allows this dehumanizing shyt.

This is just common sense... Ask any brother if they wanna be in Lebron shoes.... then ask them if they wanna be a slave..... and then with a straight face, tell them its the same thing......... :deadrose:

shyt, not just a brotha. Ask anybody regardless of race. This topic has always been highly offensive to slaves.

And lebron is just like Dave chapelle, they were both free to make their own decisions. They just each chose different paths based on their own personal priorities.

Lebron could walk away, speak out on anything he wanted, and still be a mega millionaire. He just doesn't want to. He rather be the first player billionaire, than an advocate for anything.

Take away the technicalities of "black slavery" and factor in all the types of "slavery" that exist. As I stated we are all slaves. White, Black, Hispanic, or otherwise. Every single one of us works to make the rich richer for pennies on the dollar. Don't we?

Farrakhan's point was these people in these positions of power do nothing with it. I don't think he is implying that these black celebrities are required to make a stand and put the race on their backs, but the unwillingness to do so, the repercussions if they do, the ultimate reality they are nothing more then new age "emancipated" bucks, used in new age buck fights. No ex athletes are majority team owners(MJ maybe but that would be about it). Many blow through their money and end up with nothing at the end of it. They are traded like live stocks from team to team. Their names are sold to the highest bidder(corporations and such), to the point where they no longer own it to do with as they please.

Yet the racial issues in their country get worse and worse, and they have the money and voice to speak out against it, to take their names, talent, and advantage to the moon, and either demand these cacs to square up or end all of it. In that aspect they are slaves sir. Rather to the dollar, to the lifestyle, or to the fame. But because they have the power to make change, where collectively people like us don't even make a ripple, their predicament is even worse.
Your first line is what's so troubling. "Take away the technicalities of black slavery". Well you have already pretty much defeated your own argument. Take away what, freedom of choice? The power to decide what you can do for yourself as a free man? Take away the aspect of your children being sold and you never seeing them again? Take away the aspect of your owner raping your mother, sister, wife, daughter as he pleases? Oh take away all that and you still have a slave? No, every single one of us does not work to make the rich richer. I for example work for myself. But even in the past when I didn't, I would never dare compare my situation to that of a slave. What every single one of us has is the power to decide for ourselves what we will do. Sure, some are better able to make decisions for themselves due to race or socio-economic status, but we are all free to choose. It's like saying "take away the technicalities of rape" like the womans consent, and its just sex.

There is a blatant arrogance in accusing these athletes of being slaves because they are unwilling to do the things he or other think they should do with their money or power. One of the biggest issues in our community now is what exactly we need to improve it. Some think rich blacks should build schools or other necessary establishments in the community. The fact that there aren't team owners who are black is one of finances, not so much race. I think it's safe to say, even the WHITEST white man, if he ain't got many, many millions, or better yet several billions, he isn't any closer to owning a team more than you or I. And again, did Farrakhan take a poll of these athletes to see if they even DESIRED to own teams?

Please don't kid yourself into thinking racial issues are getting WORSE. No doubt they exist, but you are NUTS if you think they are worse than they were in the 80's, or if the 80's was worse than the 60's. If you could go back in time, what do you think blacks and whites in the 60's would say if you told them we had a black president? You would be put in a straight jacket and locked up. Yes there is HUGE room for improvement, but it damm sure ain't worse. What may be confusing you is the relatively new presence of social media, and the fact that pretty much all of us have become amateur reporters with video cameras in our pockets. If a cop kills an unarmed black kid in Ferguson, MO the world will know about it that day. Just 20 years ago, that news probably doesn't make it out of Ferguson, MO. These incidents are nothing new, they are just new to the public at large.

Farrakhan and the others who promote this "pro athletes are like slaves" ideology need to come up with a different description of those blacks who are not doing what THEY feel they should be doing. I wonder if Farrakhan could look an actual slave from the 1700's in the face and say, "that professional athlete over there? he's just like you".

LeBron could wake up tomorrow say "fukk it" , retire, and still live better than all of you for the rest of his life. Meanwhile y'all gotta wake up early every morning to go to a job you hate to make chump change so you can survive for another month. If LeBron is a slave, Ion even know what to call us regular people

:mjlol: u must not know how contracts work

i don't think it's akin to slavery. but i think putting it all out there for cameras is a bit degrading just because it goes a step above physicals that people need to have for jobs like pilots

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one then.
