Alberto Del Rio has reportedly been letting it be know that once his contract with WWE is up, he will be leaving the company.

According to PWInsider, Del Rio hasn't been happy with the direction of his character. He was once a main event player on the SmackDown brand as a World Champion, and now he is being fed to Batista.

While the match between the two hasn't been officially announced, Batista vs. Del Rio will likely be added to the upcoming Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event.

Del Rio is 36-years-old and has several years of mileage on him. It’s believed that he’s been very good with his money and shouldn't be in any financial trouble once he departs from the organization.

Good news. He's taking a spot from someone who could do so much more with it. He had a 4 year run than most wrestlers will kill to have so I see no harm in this.

Del Rio and WWE tried, there's no question about it, but for whatever reason the guy just couldn't be the star they wanted him to be. As I've said countless times, the guy is pretty damn good in ring, has the mannerism, can cut a decent promo, but he can't click with the crowd no matter how they book him. He's been the most protected heel in the roster since he debuted - seriously, has any heel in the PG has had as many clean wins as him? - but it just didn't work. Time to move on and give the opportunity so someone else :camby:

Only so much TV time and only so much room on top. Quiet as kept, the WWE roster is STACKED right now and you know Cena and Orton are going NOWHERE. Either the other top spots will be swapped around every quarter or some of these guys gotta move on and make some room

He'll have a job for life in Mexico and will get payed like a star in Japan, which doesn't mean nearly as much as before, but it's still something. The guy doesn't need WWE at this point of his career, he's set.
really

i just assumed all these guys were limited after the wwe

Unless you are a special talent, after a few years of constant showcasing week after week most wrestlers have done about all they can do...whats left for Del Rio? The writing was on the wall once his face run flopped. Its time for him to dip.
