Alchemist has consistently improved his craft over the years more than any producer in Hip-Hop history.

Modern classics. You can try to argue if you want, but you'd be wrong. Pete Rock is still my number 1, but Alch is right next to him.

You guys talking about drumless beats are telling on yourself. You clearly haven't been listening to Alch recently if you think he is just on the drumless tip.
Having a song or two without drums on a full album with 15 tracks is such a weird thing to try and hold against him.

The man is undeniable at this point.

Nailed it. Also other producers that do the same thing like Madlib (putting a few drumless beats on an album) don't get dunked on here to nearly the same extent.

Haven't replied in the thread yet but Alc is probably my favorite producer after Preemo, but as far as objective GOAT status he's probably crept from top 5 to top 3 for sure. If anyone put him as their #1 I wouldn't argue too hard. I think Madlib might still be a better producer, but he just doesn't have the same type of output as Alc, and I like the rappers Al works with more. So, I think I've enjoyed Al's work the past handful of years more than Madlib's.

And yeah, Tea in China and Bo Jackson are for sure modern classics. Those have really helped solidify things.

He has leveled up since his over choppy Raekwon “Surgical Gloves” era production if you know what I mean. He has so many smooth FIRE beats nowadays his output is remarkable.

I know exactly what you mean and I call that the "arthur-itis era" :russ:

From about 07 to 09 or so, he was chopping heavy

That Ghost joint is fire @Heavy_Handz

BTW I don't hate that super choppy style. I remember an interview where he said he was playing around with using sample chops instead of hi-hats during that era. It gave us some bangers.

He is very consistent right now and in a groove but he takes less risks than he did early in his career. If we talking producers who worked outside groups and had a run Preemo is still above him. Easily for his 90's into the 2000's run of singles and consistency is still unmatched.

Im an Alc fiend but I don't see him as no GOAT
