It's a combination of everything. I can't sit here and say that the government or some other kind of authority should be able to regulate what are and aren't acceptable forms of media, but I don't like when people sit there and act like all this filth that's being put out there isn't contributing in some way to a clear problem. Super violent video games, degenerate lifestyles being promoted in music, reality TV....it all plays a role in helping to fukk up the psyche of these kids. To blame EVERYTHING on parenting is disingenuous. When somebody is in the street dying and the first reaction of a young person is to pull out his/her phone to get it on camera and scream "WORLDSTAR!!!" something is wrong breh, something needs to be done, because nobody is purposely raising their children to be that much of a fukking dirtbag.

The first step in trying to correct something is to admit that a problem exists in the first place...people like you like to pick a side and defend it to no end, that does nothing. I don't think suddenly purging our society of all the elements that make up popular culture is feasible, but we have to find some way to wean ourselves off the garbage that is clearly hurting us. How? Well I don't know, I don't pretend to have all the answers, but I do know that banning guns, video games, movies, or whatever isn't going to solve anything when American culture as a whole is fukked. You think banning guns is going to suddenly stop people in this country from murdering each other? :heh:

You're doing exactly what kev and everyone else in this thread is doing. You're doing a lot of typing but not saying anything. The only thing I'm getting from your post is "the problem isn't guns, media, parenting, mental health, it's everything" but you still offer 0 insight about anything that can be done to fix the problem.

So I'll ask you the same question, is there anything that can be done to fix the problem? And specifically, is there anything that can be done in regards to firearms to help fix the problem?

And to the bolded, I've already stated in this thread what I feel is the big problem with gun laws in this country. I'll quote myself so you can see it:

I live in Georgia and it's unbelievably easy to drive down to dikk's sporting goods, buy a hand gun, an assault rifle, and as much ammo as I want. There's a weak ass background check, and I don't have to register it with any organization. On top of that, if I want to avoid the background check, all I gotta do is buy it from someone (since a BG check is not required to buy from a regular citizen).

shyt like that is the problem IMO. It's just too fukking easy to get a gun, ammo, and their be no accountability.

It's easier for me to get a damn AK47 and 1,000 rounds of ammo, than it is for me to get a library card. I can go to any trade show in the state, show them my state ID, and walk away with an assault rifle and all the ammo I want. And I don't have to sign a single sheet of paper. It's easier to get a gun than it is for me to get a copy of my birth certificate. That's a huge problem.
