I thought staying in college would help you improve your skillset and get better
When you a projected lotto pick you go pro especially if you play for Cal cuz chances of someone taking your spot next year is high.
I was being sarcastic. I always thought that "get better" was nonsense. There's nothing that'll prepare you more for than the NBA than the NBA. That's why you leave when your stock is high.

Nothing is 100% but more often often than not, staying in college with the intent of getting better does help.
And that goes for both football and basketball.

Alex Poythress has never had an nba skill. The only reason scouts were salivating over him as a freshman was bc of his athleticism and the potential "upside". It's the same thing that happened with Chris Walker from Florida. Remember him? Yeaaaaah
But Poythress can't shoot, isn't all that big, an okay rebounder for someone with that much athleticism, cant create his own shot in the post regularly and if he wants to make an NBA team he'll have to do it defensively
