Nothing. The point is, getting most of the credit or being called a good qb for riding your teams defense over other qbs is the problem. Moreso those that think in that manner than To criticize Alex. Argue that till you're blue in the face my dude.
I dont think more than one person in this thread even called him a good qb. the question was whether teams can win with him as the teams qb.

the answer is CLEARLY yes. especially given hes played extremely shaky in hist last 3 games. this D can win any game without much help from an offense

Rice did nothing but fumble in the playoffs, Also The team that won the super bowl gave up 500 yards in the game you use the term great pretty damn loosely, what wins in todays nfl is big passing plays down the field and a bend but dont break defense.

i dont think im breaking ground here or sayign something outlandish by saying the rules make it impossible to have a Ravens 2000 team anymore those days are over
The Ravens averaged 134 yards a game rushing in the playoffs last year. Move on breh

Talent level is the same. Reid is a great coach. Smith is just so limited.
they didnt have a professional QB last year.

Again, I didnt give Alex Smith all the credit, but that team is 7-0 and he isnt preventing them from winning.

I kinda disagree, all the power football/defensive teams are in the mix this year, defenses are clearly adjusting.

i see we have people that just want to disagree to disagree

you might say Alex Smith not winning you a super bowl, but like other said. 49ers & the chiefs now are winning with him

whats so hard to grasp the method of taking it week by week on the chiefs play, not saying they wont win a Super Bowl with Alex, but damn lets get thru the rest of season before this prediction

You're right about that in this thread. Then again, it's why I love the coli because it bucks the outside trend.

No one is stupid enough to believe you can't win with an Alex Smith knowing the history of the game. It's really the accolades he's received outside the site.

I dont think game managers can win in todays nfl either, this decade teams that won the super bowl either had eltie qb's or at the very least great deep passers[Flacco ELi] the rules are set up to be able to throw the shyt out of the football you have to be able to make big plays in todays nfl

I don't know. I actually think outside of Peyton, NFL defenses have played better against the pass this year than in recent memory.

people forget Rich Gannon won a MVP and almost got a ring throwing 2-5 yard passes the whole fukking season

not saying the chiefs gonna win it but its possible

You see Rich Gannon when you watch Alex Smith play? Stop.

I was actually thinking of making a thread for this very same topic. It seems that defenses are starting to reign these QBs in a bit.

Not a bad point but i still see the completion accuracy numbers at a insanely high rate in these games and some from qb's who arent that good.

I think you have to at least have big play ability to win in todays nfl i dont think dink and dunk offense can win it all but well see.
