Were we watching the same game?? He was
Over shooting WRs by a mile, he's not a QB that throws to a spot (Peyton), he throws at the players, so whether they can get open or not those balls were no where close to the target, he was absolutely garbage.

His statline looks good, but he didn't really play that well. His receivers did drop some balls though....

Comparing Grossman and Smith is like comparing shyt with shyt. It's not even worth entertaining which scrub is slightly better.

Hey, Smith has a following. Grossman is the butt end of every joke.

His receivers are slow ass Dwayne Bowe and a bunch of practice squad dudes. I dont think Smith is any good....but why compare him to Peyton?

Lets be real here. Bowe is still a good receiver. Avery is not a PS receiver. He's started in the league before. Jamal Charles is a good back who can catch and make plays. McCluster is shifty as well. Then add Andy Reid's offense. He doesn't have top weapons but he does have some weapons. The game gets tougher when you won't throw the ball to covered receivers. He's too conservative and inaccurate on passes over 10 yards. Needs to just let it go and not get too worried about turnovers.

Yeah he did have some drop but at the end of the day, he's a 58% completion guy as a check down QB, not good at all

I didnt start it, and its not slightly better. grossman had an elite defense behind him and threw 20 picks, and then proceeded to throw a pick six in the superbowl that sealed the loss.

alex smith at least knows how to play behind elite defense. rex grossman is the president of fukk it Im going deep club.

I was comparing the style of play, Peyton throws to a spot so completion percentage can be affected by not only drops but bad route running, Smith is not as much of a spot QB

Yep....a top 3 back, great #1 receiver and a bunch of playmakers but we gonna act that he's got no weapons? Put any top tier QB in that offense they could easily double the point totals they got now especially with how many possessions they get off the D. There's a reason why Smith was complete trash all those years with bad teams. Unless he's got a great team around him he ain't shyt....and when I mean great I mean SB worthy. Cause that's the only time his little game manager thing works out :pachaha:. At least Harbaugh was smart enough to ship his ass out

we can all agree alex smith wont win you games with his arm, unlike brees, peyton, rodgers, brady, etc.

but alex also wont lose you games often. this doesnt work with bad teams, but if you have an elite defense, hes a decent qb to have. he'll grind the clock, move the chains and give the D a rest.

there are qb who can win you a game on one good day and lose you 4 on bad days, like carson palmer. if I had the chiefs D, Id easily pick alex over qbs who throw picks even when having a lead (like palmer)
this doesnt change the fact that alex is merely an average qb, but alex on chiefs makes sure defense has decent field position most of the time at least. another good thing in having alex as a qb with elite D is that youre not as reliant on your qb. if rodgers/brady/brees go down, its season over for those teams, they all depend waay too much on one player. with alex at qb, its always a team effort and hes a stopgap solution
