Finally finished it.
The season had potential, but just like squid game it felt like it was a vehicle to promote a spinoff because that was some BS.
I think what makes this season not work as well as others is the game, and lack of building connection with the new characters. Maybe they needed more episodes to build on that. I think the show would've benefited if they had more campfire scenes like the previous seasons. I thought they were going to do that after they had the one moment with the fortune game. Also, think some of the characters didn't land. Like Rei (girl with green hair) had a much different personality in the zombie game and just felt like a plot device to make us think she had a cure. I thought they were going to do more with the character after that, but felt like she was just there after. I felt other new characters felt like that. I think the most interesting was the crackhead and yakuza guy. I think they built them up decently and they were interesting characters to follow during games.
The main antagonist in the show felt so pointless, so he was just doing this all for enjoyment? I think it would've been better if he had a motivation rather than just wanting Arisu thee for entertainment. Also, if he wanted Arisu there just for entertainment, then wouldn't he create better games? They should've had Arisu play more difficult games and see how he gets out of it, if he's just there for entertainment.
I think the 2 best games was arrow of fortune and the bomb game. Other than that it didn't feel like games in previous seasons where you had to use wits or make tough decisions to survive. It just didn't feel like these games would break you like in previous seasons.
Lastly, I just felt squid games S3 screwed them over because the whole baby plotline, and games are global really messed up the landing. It felt once baby was introduced, it gave Arisu and Usagi plot armor to survive. I kinda felt they weren't going to kill both them, and I'm still unsure about the purpose of the final game. Maybe I missed something, and I thought the motivation for wheelchair character was meh.
