She's not a feminist. She's a black man hater.
Alice Walker[edit]
Author and poet Alice Walker first utilized the term "womanist" in her work, In Search of our Mother's Gardens: Womanist Prose. She explains that the term womanist is derived from the southern folk expression "acting womanish."[8] The womanish girl exhibits willful, courageous, and outrageous behavior that is considered to be beyond the scope of societal norms. She then goes on to say that a womanist is:

Womanism is a social theory based on the discovery of the limitations of the second-wave feminism movement in regards to the history and experiences of black women, and other women of marginalized groups.[1] Writer, poet, and activist Alice Walker is credited with coining the term "womanist"[citation needed] Since Walker's initial use, the term has evolved to envelop varied, and often opposing interpretations of conceptions such as feminism, men, and blackness.[2]

So what is it then, my g?

Come thru, get bodied.
It's real easy. Do better than: "this isn't feminism, she's just crazy"
That female separation/exclusion tactic doesn't work when y'all try to browbeat black men who DON'T rape, abuse neglect, or beat women/children.
Y'all say nothing about the rape/abuse/neglect/and beatings that happen in homes with NO BLACK MEN PRESENT.
So what's really fukking good?
Yeah.
It's live and we in full effect, p*ssy.

If it has nothing to do with feminism, why did Rebecca Walker write an article emphasizing feminism for the DailyMail...in her own words, using the word Feminism?
To Quote Rebecca Walker:
"As the child of divorced parents, I know only too well the painful consequences of being brought up in those circumstances. Feminism has much to answer for denigrating men and encouraging women to seek independence whatever the cost to their families.

My mother's feminist principles coloured every aspect of my life. As a little girl, I wasn't even allowed to play with dolls or stuffed toys in case they brought out a maternal instinct. It was drummed into me that being a mother, raising children and running a home were a form of slavery. Having a career, travelling the world and being independent were what really mattered according to her.
But being a mother, maternal and feminine is definitely a part of feminism tho:gucci: Feminist believe in stay at home moms, wives, and even being *gasp*...............................submissive. Most feminist don't even claim the radical feminist you're talking about.

You seem to be treading very lightly in regards to Alice Walker, you even referred to her by first name.
Care to explain why...other than the obvious?
:mjgrin::sas2:

I know what you’re getting at. Just because I try to empathize with the plight of Black women don’t make me a feminist or female identified.

Feminism is extreme selfishness for women.

Alice wanted to come up off a white man financially but after the come up had bedwench regrets and used feminism to cover up the fact the woman in the mirror was the only woman in her life that mattered.

What a pathetic woman. She couldn't teach a grandson to be anything more then a homosexual probably. Possible lesbian.

Plenty of MAINSTREAM feminist theory compares motherhood to slavery.
Please tell me how this isn't feminism if the woman is sharing her personal experiences with a woman credited with changing the face of 2nd wave feminism and bringing WOMANISM to the forefront, therefore giving birth to the 3rd wave?

...FOR ALLEGED ABUSE Daughter Exposes 'Color Purple' Author Alice Walker For Harshly Disowning Her & Grandchild
:ohhh::ohhh::ohhh::ohhh::ohhh::ohhh:
Walker_and_daughter.png

Apparently, Alice Walker has nothing to do with her only daughter :mjcry:and fans are criticizing her for her seemingly harsh decision. Now, her daughter Rebecca Walker is shedding light on a different side of her mother:demonic:; the side fans have never seen. Rebecca, also a writer, recently shared disheartening details about her childhood and what led to her mother’s decision to disown her.:camby:
She also explained how her mother’s feminist beliefs created serious complications that ultimately led to the demise of their relationship.

“My mother’s feminist principles [colored] every aspect of my life. As a little girl, I wasn’t even allowed to play with dolls or stuffed toys in case they brought out a maternal instinct. It was drummed into me that being a mother, raising children and running a home were a form of slavery. Having a career, traveling the world and being independent were what really mattered according to her. I love my mother very much, but I haven’t seen her or spoken to her since I became pregnant. She has never seen my son – her only grandchild. My crime? Daring to question her ideology.

Well, so be it. My mother may be revered by women around the world – goodness knows, many even have shrines to her. But I honestly believe it’s time to puncture the myth and to reveal what life was really like to grow up as a child of the feminist revolution.

“Devastated, I asked her to [apologize] and acknowledge how much she’d hurt me over the years with neglect, withholding affection and resenting me for things I had no control over – the fact that I am mixed-race, that I have a wealthy, white, professional father and that I was born at all.:birdman: But she wouldn’t back down. Instead, she wrote me a letter saying that our relationship had been inconsequential for years and that she was no longer interested in being my mother. :damn:She even signed the letter with her first name, rather than ‘Mom’.”

:damn::damn: Wow that was a lot worse than I was expecting

Why are you imagining homosexual acts to prove your point? Thoughts like that don't even run across my mind...they don't even stay there long enough to type.
In the first post, you offer @Another Man your nuts.
Now you're talking about @Another Man performing unspeakable acts.
I don't know any real Detroit nikkas who make weirdo cac-like references to male genitalia. What's wrong w/ you?

Oh, well where's the energy in this thread and why are you treading so softly on the neglect of a defenseless child?
Do you think she was forced to lay with that man, gestate a child, give birth to that child, and then neglect said child after being dissatisfied? Is that fair to a black child?
Is that very sisterly or good for the development of a black child, and a future black mother?
Do you think the ability to be/do so should be regulated?

Alice Walker seems to have a lot of resources but nobody's in this thread talking about her taking them outside of the black community...What's good with the energy?
Isn't this toxic behavior? It's based on her feminist beliefs.
What's really good?
