no their fans are going to grow up and forget about them :heh:
a following on social media doesn't mean anything.
Ariana doesn't have staying power.
One direction will suffer the same fate as most other boy bands.
Bieber... who knows.
We'll see. These teeny boppers now are different from you and me. I have a feeling that they'll stan for a long time.

I think Ariana does have staying power regardless. The girl has got pipes.

Social media following does mean something ... a big thing. Sure there are Jim Jones' out there who have 3 mil followers and sell 5,000 copies of their CD - but it's going to get your name out there and you share one link, it's being sent to millions of users. It's definitely something.

Actually, friends, alot of the new talent you praise did not grow up singing in church and dont have that soul, which is where soul comes from, THE CHURCH. But ok, keep promoting homosexual singers like Frank ocean and ratchet r&b artists singing about breaking windows out of cars. Thats not love.
There are people of European descent who can sing. Why are we denying this. Our parents liked Michael Mcdonald and Steely Dan. The issue is rap culture has influenced r*b and turned it into demonic filth. You cant be a soul hiphop singer if you arent in church.

Blame black folks for wanting the latest trap music and the latest techno inspired song about fast sex at the club. R & B is considered "simping" music where old people listen to. Plus you got a generation of blacks, for the first time ever, not being raised by the church, but they were raised by commercial rap.

Its done :to:

:wow: Too much truth in this. The foundation of Black American music in the 20th century was about a man's relationship with a woman, the ups and downs of a relationship but many on this board calls that simp music and wonder why whites have no problem with that type of music...the type of music we perfected. Drake is inspired by Marvin Gaye and Al Green and nikkas hate it. 30-40 years ago black men listened to nothing but what will be now considered simp music :mindblown:

You are crazy if you think Alicia could ever sing like Ariana.

This thread is pathetic. The girl can sing......she ain't trying to put black people out of jobs.

Go look at the production and writing credits for Ariana Grande's album its Babyface and a slew of black writers and producers. These record labels are putting the money for production and writing behind white artists that sing RnB/Soul. There has always been white artists that did RnB/Soul since the Michael McDonald and the Doobie Brothers, but they were never at the forefront of the genre. Ariana is not the problem. The two influences are the record labels who prefer to push white RnB artist over talented black artists with equal or greater talent in the genre and the white buying public who now prefers to buy RnB/Soul from white artists. This turn happened post Usher Confessions. The labels are the ones that really how the power to promote and invest in these artist when its all said and done.

They are pumping money into her because she is talented and brings her already huge Nickelodeon fan base with her. She is a lock to receive a return on investment.

so frank ocean and miguel didn't own 2012? :what:

how fickle are y'all?

Frank Ocean owned 2012 because he came out gay breh, if not the only people checkin for his album were black folks. Miguel sold how many records again? That is what record companies are looking at. The buying patterns strongly show that whites like old school RnB pre-Bobby Brown (Earth, Wind, Fire/Commodores/Michael Jackson/Marvin Gaye/Al Green with Usher's Confessions being an outlier and white RnB artists of today (JT and beyond). Never met a white person that was a fan out Tyrese, Ginuwine, Tank, Trey Songz, etc.

Okay, then why can't she just do pop records if the money is already there. Go get Dr. Luke and he can give her a hot pop album. She can be another Katy Perry and sell records because the fanbase is going to follow her, right?

Thread starter failed on the thread title...I think he should have said Mariah. Alicia Keyes at least plays the piano
