How is Alicia Keys overrated? I don't really recall anyone saying Alicia was some GOAT or was even putting her up there with Aretha Franklin or legends like that. I mean, during the era of discussion, Alicia was playing multiple instruments (mainly the piano and Rhodes). She made great music, but indeed fell off after admitting to purposely writing songs out of her vocal range.

Alicia started going down musically after the Unplugged album in my honest opinion.

I also think she screams more now and her voice sounds strained in comparison to how her voice was when she first came out.

Most of her best cuts are non singles. Her fall off aligned with changing production teams.

Splitting from Krucial was where things changed for her musically.

But we are a bunch of guys and the song is on some "girl power" ish.....The guy I quoted doesn't seem objective so it is assumed he dislikes the song due to its girl power message. But that was the same song used for Gabby Douglas in the 2012 Olympics. How can one dislike such a song without an explaination but to assume its due to the girl power message? So u have to appeal to what he can relate to which is the visual.

This is one of the worst songs ever. I hate this shyt. I remember hearing this come on in a CVS once and I instantly wanted to murder everybody in that mothafukka. One of the most irritating melodies ever.

Krucial Keys helmed Alicia's first four albums. By album number four, it was apparent that Krucial had fallen off too. The best songs on that album weren't even produced by Krucial. He did co-produce one of the highlights with Noah "40" Shebib on this song though:
