For some reason the direct link to wikipedia doesn't work. If you search for Kerry Brothers Jr, or Krucial Keys it will take you to his wikipedia page though.
He isnt solely responsible for her success, and i think they still work together from time to time. BUT the breakdown of their close working relationship definitely corresponded very closely with the breakdown of the quality of her music. The thing is music, especially that magical mix of commercially successful 'art' pop music usually is a team effort, and while she may have been the quarterback and face of the team, she cant win the superbowl without the supporting cast. This is clear now. Personally I have the feeling Krucial was always the quarterback, but have nothing to back that up, his music isnt on the same level commercially or quality wise without her either.
Problem with Pop music is it is almost by definition corny... the art is mixing the corny but not corny that makes a Pop record that works commercially and as good music. Keys been struggling with that for a while.
