Differently is ambiguous. You're positing that the need to stretch is the sole reason for the shows issues, I'm saying it's only one of many issues

Showrunners said using the kids as the centerpiece to the Blood and Cheese story doesn't translate well to TV

GRRM is the genius not them. Adapt his story as it’s meant to be told or don’t do it: you don’t copy a Van Gogh painting and change it because you can do it better.

The point of Blood and Cheese is to make a Sophie’s choice dilemma and set up future story lines. We saw how ignoring story lines in Game of Thrones leads to problems later on.

Nettles is also integral and not introducing Daeron and then having him pop up later is even more stupid: it’s like “oh here’s my son who controls a dragon, where was he for 2 season? Uh traveling”

They have no idea what they want to do with the story and their solution was to take two minor characters in terms of the actual war in Rhaenarya and Alicent and make them stare off into space and talk about how they don’t want to fight and the men are making them do it for a whole season.

Again GRRM crashed out on his blog on the show and he was a tv writer so he knows how hard adaptions are and if he says this is trash it’s trash.

There would be some issues, but I don’t think they would been as big as the ones that had the thread crying 2 episodes in.

I think it would have been much easier for them to get it right without running back to stretch things out. We’ve seen this play out with so many films and series.

This bolded is a huge factor that I haven't seen discussed much on here yet. They just turned the Xeno into a bulletproof velociraptor basically. The aliens build nests, and try to spread. There's lore where they need a queen, and there's lore where they don't. Either way, having them just mindlessly butcher everyone doesn't really match up with their lore. Also, having them need to feel fear or whatever in order to attack? That felt weird as well.

I can fully see a lone Xeno being controlled by Wendy because it has no purpose. Introducing a second Xeno should put that in conflict. It also should have been moving to free the eggs or bring a human into the lab to become a host.

I want to know how they function without a queen but that's something they couldn't get into this season. What they should have done was wrap up certain storylines and gave us something big to hold us over. Boy could've given T Ocellus a human host and talked to it. Instead they went for a character who had plot armor the whole season. They could've surprised us and had Hermit get taken over but they wimped out on that and made T Ocellus look weak in the process by not being able to take his body. Reanimated Arthur might be a lot more dangerous because he has knowledge that Hermit doesn't but that's something we'll have to wait on. It doesn't add anything to this season.

I actually didn't hate the plant. It kind of reminded me of that fukked up plant on Scavengers Reign (fire ass fukking show if you haven't seen it; watch it breh. It's so great)

That show is hands down the best depiction of an alien world ever. Should've gotten the people who wrote that to write AE.

10/10 but it's slept on.

The lore I read is when there is no queen they are smarter and more independent. When there is a queen they are more like drones and not as smart like in Aliens but are less likely to kill you outright. But that’s from the comics I believe so I doubt the writers are paying attention to any of that.s

Either way I agree, they move like the Xeno in 3 which moved like that because it came out of a Dog/Bull depending on the version.

I much prefer the one from the opening 3 episodes that moves like people when it’s trying to sneak up on you. The indestructible dinosaurs like you said makes it too OP.

This shyt started off hot, but everybody was dumb as fukk those last couple of episodes. Like, the level of stupidity and general lack of awareness from numerous characters all within the same episode (I think it was 6) just had me and my homebody that was watching this shyt took out.

A TRILLIONAIRE couldn't have armed guards every where on the island? A TRILLIONAIRE?

And I feel like that might've been cap because this mf had the audacity to get on a walkie talkie and say "A million to the first person who finds me."

A MILLION? On Monster Island? That's all I would've got for finding your stank barefeet having ass?

Would've shot that cac on sight if I had found him before the Xeno.

And that dumb bytch mind wiping the Down's synth only to send her to her friends that IMMEDIATELY started jogging her memory and put her right back on track for crazy town. Them last episodes were BUNS.

Re: the bolded, I'll tell you why I don't find it scary. The main primal fear of the T Ocellus to me, is that it hijacks your brain and makes you helpless inside of your own body, and a prisoner trapped while the eye monster takes over your brain and your body and does what it wants. If I'm already dead, I don't give af what it does to me...because I'm dead and can't experience it.

I just find that 10x less scary and 10x less interesting. Okay, cool, so now it's just a zombie?

It doesn't even make sense. That's a totally different feature. We never even truly saw its first power in anything besides a sheep for more than a couple of mins, and they teased having an actual conversation with it, and they didn't deliver on that, and then moved on to having it magically reanimate a dead person?

The sheep doesn’t have brain functions to understand Pi. It’s entirely Eyeleen

Parasites survival is dependent on the host being alive and functioning for it to siphon. The sheep stood up in an unnatural way because the original host body’s mind is gone.

Eyeleen kills the host body when it enters otherwise they could survive when she exits.

Classic zombies have only one desire. Eyeleen isn’t piloting a zombie cause she has more interest than just survival.

This right here. Wipe her memory just to remind her of everything that was just wiped and make her a psychopath again. Also Wendy's turn at the end of episode 7 just didnt make sense. She acted like her brother killed Nibs when he just knocked her out.
The Ocellus taking over Arthur's dead body on the beach made no sense and reminded me of Weekend At Burnies 2
