My guess is it's smart enough to look for the best possible host. It gave up on that cat as soon as it saw the hybrids and almost got one of them.

That's also part of what makes it scary because the xenomorphs don't even go after hybrids but this thing does. I think its capable of speech in a host that can talk it just hasn't gotten one yet.

When it tried to stand up, I'm pretty sure it was remembering that the last human it ate on the ship

Is this show as good as I *expected* it to be when it was first announced? Probably not. But it's still a fun addition to the Alien universe...There has certainly been (a lot) worse releases

i watched it this morning. somehow my ATV prompted me to watch on dtv through FX even though i never had before. i wanted to kill myself. so many ads. never again will i not wait until its on hulu. this ep felt like a retread of one of the first 2 eps
