.but I like controllers..
Wanting to get in the PC gaming..but I like controllers...So I can get the i5 version with 8gb ram and 1tb hd for under 500...Should I cop for 475?![]()
Negative. Any PC can use controllers via USB or with a wireless adapter. The Alpha isn't worth the money simply because it can't use anything outside of a mobile processor to it's full abilities and because the graphics card isn't upgradable.Wanting to get in the PC gaming..but I like controllers...So I can get the i5 version with 8gb ram and 1tb hd for under 500...Should I cop for 475?![]()

Is the CPU in a socket 1150 or soldered on?it's a pretty good deal. it would be hard to build something similar for that price, and it definitely wouldn't be that small
Breh you need to stop playing and just PayPal me $700 to build you a real machine inside a mini-itx case

Owners can upgrade almost all of the Alpha’s hardware. Players can boost the RAM to 16 GB if they want to, and they can swap in new hard drives and CPUs as well, provided they work within the console’s small confines. Azor said that these upgrades would not void the Alpha’s warranty. Why are these idiots still selling gaming pcs that aren't upgrade-able?

What about the graphics card? Anything without an upgradeable graphics card isn't worth copping. Upgrading a hard drive is what a console can do already.
That thing doesn't have the power supply to feed a full blown desktop processor properly. You can put a better CPU in there but you won't get the performance its capable of from the Alpha.Owners can upgrade almost all of the Alpha’s hardware. Not only is that graphics card not a retail unit (meaning it has custom drivers that don't always come out promptly) but its not upgradable. What about the graphics card? Anything without an upgradeable graphics card isn't worth copping. Upgrading a hard drive is what a console can do already.

Its just a bad idea to get an Alpha for gaming. If you're gonna spend a few hundred you're better off making something that can be upgraded even if it does require a larger case.
