That is our whole point. Meek knows how to make music that can get the attention of listeners OUTSIDE of Philly.

Hottest in the City & Rose Red was getting burn down in here in ATL. There is no conspiracy. If Reed, Quilly, Haddy, Cyssero or whoever knew how to make hits they'd be eatin too. Also Meeks work ethic is WAY better than them. Are we really surprised its Meek who is winnin right now?

Cass followed the same formula even tho he had the swizzy cosign but he still knew how to create radio friendly singles as well as spittin that regular philly shyt.

its not really a philly thing. meek is the 1st new rapper PERIOD to blow up off of non-commercialized hits in a while. hes a throwback to the better days of rap and thats why alot of people all over the country are getting behind him. the idea of a rap hit that isnt catered to women, kids, casual listeners and idiots has nearly become a lost art. and even when he does his club thing, hes still being himself, and it doesnt come off as forced. as opposed to most artists today who look at the radio single as a mandatory song that they really dont want to do - which comes across in the song.

and yes, alot of philly rappers arent really good at making radio-friendly records but they shouldnt have to be. thats the problem with the industry right now. also, i think people look at the lack of commercially-appealing records and get carried away and go into "they cant make records, period" mode.

I'm a prominent DJ in the clubs in Philly....he runs shyt & the whole city is behind him, shyt Lou Williams gets records played in the club on the strength....you can't DJ a party without doing a Meek set period.

but yeah like someone said, he pulled away from the Joey Jihads and Reed Dollarz and the Cysseros because he knew how to make music.....which most Philly rappers don't. Gillie can make pretty good music but people outside the city just don't buy into his image and just aren't trying to hear him....

After growing up listening to guys like the legend in your avi its hard for me to get excited for these new cats man. It's like we're going backwards.

on point. difference is that meek has been able to align himself with the right label which allows him to get the right beats and right features in order to put his name out there.

meek mill is even big at my college here in VA, and u know it ain't cuz of his battle raps on youtube. it's cuz he's on rick ross songs and with MMG
