I need to replay the SaGa Frontier series. For some reason I remember starting it and it going over my head? I dunno. :patrice:

And Suikoden 3.

SaGa Frontier did not hold your hand for anything ever. Back in the day I could only beat Red's part 'cause his was the most straight forward in a sense. SaGa 2 was a bit better before the series went off the rails again...but I've played, owned and loved each one on it's own merits. Definitely get 2, that's where they sorta focused more on central story telling and having everything wrapped up in a more cohesive bubble than 1.

it just seemed like I was running around doing random shyt.

It wasn't until last week that I remembered emulating Seiken Densestu 3, Romancing SaGa(s) and Live a Live years ago....

There really was a point where Square didn't give a shyt about a linear storyline in any way, shape, form or fashion.

Chrono Trigger, then a Link to the Past and FFTactics.

But I was most excited for the release of Super Mario RPG. That was te first time I actually saved my own money to buy a game.

FF6 - when that came out I couldn't stop playing. When 7 came out it was impressive but I was disappointed how the story wasn't as grand and characters couldn't be leveled to god-status.

It'll always be Chrono Trigger for me. After that I'd have to think about it. :yeshrug:

I've still never played any Legend of Zelda games. Never had a Super Nintendo growing up (I was team Genesis) and Link always seemed like such a lame character that I never had any desire to go back and play the games.

I don't usually mess with RPGs, just because I don't like having to put that much time and attention into one game, but there's a handful that I played many hours of when I was young, and thought were amazing:

Final Fantasy II
Final Fantasy III
Shining Force
Final Fantasy VII

Stuff like Phantasy Star and Ys and more modern RPGs sound interesting though.

Mass effect as a series with no doubt. Played through all 3 games several times and it never gets boring to me. fukkin going around shoving c*nts out windows and shyt. :wow:

Dragon age origins and fallout are great too.

Never could get into jrpgs for some reason.

i hated saga frontier 2

it had none of the charm or appeal of the first one :francis: just a bland military campaign for a story and shyt

Released in America as Final Fantasy II for SNES (Final Fantasy IV). The American translation I found more enjoyable.

Secret of Mana is nearly on the same level.

MMORPG: Final Fantasy XI

Everything else after that is significantly lower to me.
