I usually put 1k in his savings account. 1k in mine. And use the rest to do some summer shopping, and pay off any bills I have.

My tax return will be blown on flight + hotel to take a bar exam out of state, AND THE PROSPECT DOES NOT EXCITE ME.

let's keep it 100 though if you claiming somebody else's kid or even asking to on your taxes you broke as fukk. one time i had a grown woman tell me to claim her on my taxes that she lived with me and i took care of her expenses so we could split the money. i told her no.
i love how people with kids try to act like they're winning cause they get a few extra thousand back from the Government once a year for them. year round yall still gotta pay for those little shyts and they drain that money outta your pockets.
when i get my whole paycheck after the minimal bills are paid its all mine. when yall get yall paycheck there's a kid with needs and wants to take care of.
only way you're winning just for having a kid is if he grows up to be the next LeBron James if not yall can celebrate a few thousand and pay way more than that in the long run.

Contrary to popular belief, not all single moms are on welfare. Some of us graduated highschoool, graduated college, and have careers
When I get my check, I'm able to pay my rent, my bills, put money in saving AND go shopping. My son get his haircuts every week. He has clean clothes, he has clean shoes on his feet, he has all his school supplies.
When we walk past stores, he points to the window and ask "mommy can I get that", and guess what? I go in and get it. I'm not one of those parents that have to say "oh I'll get it next week, mommy doesn't get paid till Friday". Nope. I do all that because(thank god) I CAN.
We're not struggling over here.

People act like these children are being produced via immaculate conception. For every single mother, there is a man who abandoned his responsibilities as a father. Lets call it what it is. Not sure why people have such hatred for single mothers. Be mad at both parties. Women need to start demanding commitment from men before having a child for him, and men need to start fulfilling their responsibilities as leaders of the family.
