Em was making songs about killing women. If Pac made a song like that in the 90s, the scrutiny would be 100 times worse. Eminem got it pretty easy. So easy that when white people are gushing over Eminem in the comments for an article, no one even makes gratuitous references to that part of his career. Like they do for black entertainers.
Didn't Biggie mention raping someone's kid in a song? What happened with that?

Three 6 Mafia's DJ Paul had a rape verse and won a Grammy

Tyga, Lil Wayne, DMX, Ja Rule, Camron etc have all mentioned rape in their songs..

There are countless songs about rappers murdering and raping people...

SINY!!
1. This thread has been down already .. in fact I think it was made today.

2. We've been over this; nobody is denying that Eminem was good at one point. But people feel that his material the last 5+ years has been sub-par and if he were black he'd be irrelevant.

3. The reason those guys don't sell is cause they're either average or unknowns who aren't in Em's league.

There's white people who only listen to Eminem and have only listened to him and declare him GOAT. That shyt is disgusting to hear.

Or ''i dont want to hear about bytches or hoes or the n word'' little do they know Eminem rapped about worst shyt than that..

The bolded explains it best......its like smashing one bytch your entire life, when there is better and more variety out there.

Unless people have an extensive knowledge of hip-hop, listened to and dissected all the classic/near classic albums that have dropped.....they shouldn't call him GOAT.....that we are in agreement.

Now if someone fits the above statement and still feels that way, well then hey its their opinion and more power to them. He has shown he still has "it". I thought Relapse was very good, but everything else has been sub-par.

:salute:

Who's really that mad about him tho? I check it out when he puts out a new song but for most I don't care either way.

1.rappers have had better skill than em, but due to skin color not the same kind of impact as far as sales are concerned!!! if em was black, he'd be a redman!!!

2.rappers have been protested against, but due to skin color, it was not as big a story for white america. em said it himself:

Try to stop my concerts early, surely hip-hop was never a problem in Harlem, only in Boston,
After it bothered the fathers of daughters starting to blossom
, so now I'm catchin' the flack
From these activists when they raggin', actin' like I'm the first rapper to smack a bytch, or
Say fakkit, shyt, just look at me like I'm your closest pal, the posterchild, the motherfukkin'
Spokesman now for... WHITE AMERICA!!!!!!

3.a lot of black people won't relate to a lot of em's shyt and thus hold other rappers in higher regard.

just like white people, whose first experience with hip hop most probably was eminem, put em on a pedestal.

i think em is great, but em made himself popular. that is all he did for hip hop imo!!!!
it is what it is!!!!!

Let me preface this by saying I'm not a huge Em fan... shyt, I haven't bought an album since MMLP

BUT

It looks as though a lot of posters are hating on this dude because he has a HUGE fan base that buys his albums. Haters will say oh, he only sells because he's white, he wouldn't be what he is if it wasn't for his skin color. Let's think of how many white rappers that are out nowadays

Mac Miller
Asher Roth
Action Bronson
Apathy
Maclemore
MGK

Why aren't these artists selling or as popular as Em? They're all white. What's the difference? Skill, simple and plain. Can/do any of these artists make music remotely as good as Em?

What it really comes down to is the black culture is hurt that a white boy made the impact he has in hip hop,. He will forever be remembered as one of the greats whether they like it or not and the KILLS them. They're trying to rewrite history but it's just gonna fall on deaf ears. "We don't believe you.." Talking about Eminem doesn't talk about anything. How does he not talk about anything? Have you even listened to his music? The connection he makes to his fans and how they can identify with him is THE REASON he's as big as he is.
Does he have his share of BS, sure...but he has a great amount of his personal life he puts in his music and he's done it throughout his career.

Does Em sell as much as he does because of his white fan base? Absolutely. But that white fan base also purchases 70% of all your favorite rappers albums as well.

One of the more ironic things I keep reading is Em is a shell of his former self. He's just selling because he's a brand. They may be true, but the same thing can be said for Jay-Z as well. But that doesn't stop his dikkriding stans stop from trying to put his recent on some pedestal...it's laughable.

You don't like his music? That's fine, it's not for everyone...but keep it moving. Trying to shyt on this man just makes you look like a scorned woman.
at the end of tha day he's gonna be tha face of hip hop. I see white kids calling him tha "greatest rapper ever" and those fukkers don't even like hip hop or black music.he's ICP without tha clown gimmick. m&m tha digestable juggalo rapper:dry:

Some people here can't deal with the perception of others. They get offended when they see something getting praised and disagree, then come to the conclusion it sucks alltogether. See the same formula happen all the time: MMLP (example) = overrated. Opinion because of this: wack album. But these same people tend to overrate everything they listen to, just to say it's better than the music they don't like. Result: everything is either classic or wack, no discussion possible.
Nothing more than insecure bytch tendencies.

Sure, but people tend to overrate everything they like, and that doesn't make him or anybody else wack. Especially when those people are just casual pop listeners, who don't know better, as was pointed out before. Maybe some of those people will even start digging and end up buying your favorte rappers album, and when their taste matures, change their opinion on what they overrated before,

maybe you can find that clip of ''2,4,6,8 dmx is full of hate'' cause i don't remember mass protests when dmx was selling millions making songs about raping underage girls and corpses right before em came out :ohhh: oh wait that's because it doesn't exist :stopitslime:

People aren’t “hating” on Eminem because he has a huge fan base that buys his albums. People just don’t like the fact that someone who has no discernible accomplishments, outside of sales, is placed amongst, and even above, some of the greatest MC’s of all time. Dude has ZERO universally accepted classic albums, some of the corniest tracks over the past decade and has had one of the biggest fall offs, talent wise, in hip hop history. And Mac Miller, Asher Roth, Action Bronson, etc. don’t sell, or has the appeal to white people like Em, because they are not as talented as Em is (or was) and they don’t have the official black hip hop co-sign like Em (Dr. Dre) and they came after Em.

Also, white boys, like the threadstarter, are perpetuating this falsity that he had some type of huge, game changing impact on hip hop. His impact is that he was white, with skills and had a co-sign by the legendary Dr. Dre. That’s it. Nothing more.

Bottom line, if this dude was black he would be Redman or Canibus. Period. Even Eminem himself has said it on several occasions. Dude has skills but whiteboys, and c00ns, putting him above, or at, the level of cats like Nas, Jay-Z, Scarface, Ghostface, Biggie, Pac, etc. is one of the most disturbing things I’ve witnessed in hip hop history.

if u think em gets hat cause he is white you should read what the highest rated intellectual critcis said about him. they love him more than they own mama. yeah black people might not fx with em overall apart from sunzoo, but dont worry the white power structures, critical and financial, really love him. em is winning.
