This should be a way bigger story than what it is. I understand Joe Dumars taking heat (which he deserves) but he at least got Fears and Queen to build a strong foundation with.

This Bozo just went 0-5 in the first round of the draft. Let me reiterate he had FIVE FIRST ROUND PICKS and not one of those kids are worth a damn.

I’ve never seen that shyt before and it should be a way way WAY bigger story right now. Like seriously who goes 0-5 in a draft?
WAYYYYYY too early to say that. Now, if they tank and get Dybantsa or some other PG, then it kinda wastes those guys before they ever see the floor.

Demin I thought was a reach but long term can definitely fit as a starter for them. Powell, Saraf, Wolf, probably 3 backups at best, but when you draft in the first round, if you get three backups take it.

Should they have kept five firsts? No, because nobody was in the business of adding all that youth at once. They couldn't trade up for Ace and nobody else had the appetite to to stockpile this class except a team that was more than willing to tank and have time to see them play.

The main I thing I don't get is why they're still working on using guys like Martin and Wilson and Williams who don't have long term appeal. By mid season or post deadline, they'll use guys like Traore and Saraf and Wolf more.

they can't trade him without his permission.

If you're asking why they didn't trade him last year, it's because he made $4 mil last year and played 23 games. What were you getting back? Another 2025 first?

Also, I think BK was hoping because there were no takers that it would suppress his value to where he would accept a below market deal. It did, but Cam was asking for RJ Barrett money and the Nets pretty much abandoned a long term extension.
I know you get a NTC when you sign the QO - the bolded was exactly my point. A first > nothing, especially since the decision seems to have been made long ago he's not part of the Nets future. There's absolutely no purpose for him to be on this Nets team, let the kids play you're gonna be awful either way you go

They didn't get nothing. They still have Cam. A 2025 first would be nothing if that guy was in Long Island with no real plan.

and I don't think the decision was made long ago that he wasn't part of the future. I think things changed when Cam was asking for the moon in negotiations. He wanted cornerstone player level money and too many people think he can't even be a starter on a good team.

and Cam does serve a purpose the same way MPJ does. A bunch of PG's and role players drafted. Demin gotta pass it to somebody. Saraf and Traore to a lesser extent gotta feed someone. That's why Cam starts and plays a bunch (til he got hurt). If they tank it and get a Peterson or Dybantsa, now you can put them in Cam's old role. It's all due diligence. They drafted 5 guys this year. If TWO of them amount to anything they'll take it. Even OKC had to burn through some prospects to get the pieces they have now.

Marks went from on top of the world building a playoff team off of nothing but failed lottery picks he got from other teams while having no picks to failing spectacularly with what should have been one of the greatest offensive teams of all time and all he could win was 1 playoff series, then backdoored that with one of the dumbest drafts in history.

Now all he got to show for it is Cam Thomas, MPJ, and some dude named Igor they trying to hype up cause he threw a pass Jokic throws 10 times in the first half one time all season. :wow:

Nets had a really bad draft, 4 frp that cant touch the court is madness.
They can’t play 15 guys a night.

My main issue with them is that it really is clusterfukk city. They drafted essentially 3 PG’s yet Tyrese Martin is the back up. I don’t think it’ll be that way all season, but at least they decided to give Traore game reps even if it is in LI.

Always said my main problem with Marks is he cannot put together a balanced roster ever.

Tyrese Martin is better than most of the players they drafted.
