allAn houston is my favorite player of all time... grew up in that generation of the knicks... smoothest j in the league at that time (maybe excluding ray ray)... still got my retro houston jersey that i wear whenever i ball.
Don't let the video in the OP fool you.I was thinking about it the other day Houston was a lot like an earlier version of Brandon Roy with a better jumper. Wasnt the most athletic player in his prime but he got buckets.

I didnt even watch the OP video. I been a Knicks fan for over 20 years. Allan Houston was set to be the leader of that team during the twilight of Ewing's career but injuries fukked that up. And Camby came off the bench during that 99 finals run Ewing, LJ, and Kurt were the main big man rotation. Camby only started in the playoffs because of injuries. Had the Knicks been healthy I truly believe they would have beat the Spurs.Don't let the video in the OP fool you.
Roy was a better player overall. The problem with Allan Houston was that the Knicks made a mistake to gamble on him to be the leader of the franchise...if they had a dominant down low presence with him and spreewell they could have gone to the finals another time easily. Hell, they did it with Marcus Camby....
The New York Knicks![]()

was only around 24 that season. once houston started going HAM, he should have guarded him instead of spree. this was back when bean was a ridiculous defender too.Allan Houston got surpremely overpaid by NYK. Just like when Ben Wallace got overpaid by Chicago, Bill Davidson was on his
Allan Houston leaving to New York was one of my first etherial moments as a kid in the D.
No one speaks on the potential that could have been Grant Hill and Allan Houston in Detroit.
Dan Majerie AKA Thunder Dan!!
excellence between thunder dan, hornacek and tom chambers.but ya'll got stackhouse after houston left. and that was a young prime stackhouse too that was making all star teams.
Kobe would've gotten lit up too; nobody wants that switch at that point. Once Houston (or a shooter at that level, the rare ones) gets going like that there's no defense short of keeping him from getting the ball that's going to bother his shot.see, there's NO reason for allan houston to be going nuts on the lakers like that?was only around 24 that season. once houston started going HAM, he should have guarded him instead of spree. this was back when bean was a ridiculous defender too.
