Even in general society , white black lives matter supporters are seen as noble people who check their own priveledge, black people who assert their own lives matter are called violence advocating extremists, just look at what Sherman said.
In the end, the entire black lives matter movement exists to frame the neo-feudal, pseudo colonial world we live in as black ppl vs evil union cops, when we all know the 21st century of the haves vs the have nots. These police are the real thugs, working as overseers for the 1 percent.

I disagree. The phrase is appropriate and important. Black Lives Matter, my life and my family's lives matter. Our people who have gotten gunned down in the streets by these racist ass cops, their lives matter too. People who deflect on what BLM stands for hated the fact that black people would organize and be bold enough to say our lives are worth something.
As for AI his comments are disappointing but I do agree with @SunZoo to a certain degree that most of these athletes aren't well versed enough to know why #AllLivesMatter would infuriate our community
This is the thing though, BLM sprang up out of the Mike Brown situation if I'm not mistaken but if you go do their site and look at their mission statements and all that kind of shyt it's not just an anti-police brutality slogan. In fact some cats in TLR the other day tried to say that it was JUST about that and were surprised and how the founders really wanted to put the more marginalized members of the black community at the center of the movement, such as LBGT and women specifically and they weren't as enthused about backing it then...
Now me, I'm fine with all that. But that to me is proof that the outrage that people seem to have when you circle back and want to point the BLM movement toward the violence, sexism, homophobia within the community is unwarranted if you are following what the founders say is the mission.
Police brutality and "black on black crime" may be separate issues but they both stem from the same problem and influence each other greatly whether you're talking about perception or even needing to send police into impoverished war zones because of what ultimately...white supremacy.
