yeah u gettin old.

thing is, this music will get old and other stuff will come out.

i just hope better hip hop comes out. cuz the way its going.

hip hop is gonna die

and we gonna be stuck with auto-tune singing, can't perform live, corny dudes who wanna be a gangsta.

but then again.

maybe that's just hip hop today :manny:

i don't mind being old (if 27 is even old) , them young girls love it when i talk down bout their generation of dudes :jawalrus:

you;ll see how easy it is when y'all turn 27. if its easy now. much easier later on. actually gotta ease off the gas. high school and college chicks love older dudes. dunno how it works in the 30's but late 20's is prime age to hunt them young, impressionable girls. with their fagg0t loving music tastes. :lolbron:

In Dallas, From Cleveland
:childplease: You relate to Nightmares of the bottom

But, can't relate to Started from the Bottom:blessed:

:comeon: That nikka didn't mention shyt about "the bottom" the whole song
What am I suppose to relate to? Arguing with his mama? His Uncle bytching about him not bringing his car back?

Its cool song with a nice hook, but as far as what he is talking about its no different than Over or Headlines

I'm not here to trying to prop up older or 90s rappers or no shyt like that because it plenty of newer artists I fukks with Big KRIT, Schoolboy Q, Freddie Gibbs, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Dom Kennedy Etc.

My biggest problem is you have all these artists with different styles and stories but when most their music comes out "singles & mainstream stuff" it ends up sounding like the same music everybody else is making.

most of the stuff coming out today isn't soulful at all. if i can't feel it then i won't retain it or listen to it, nor will i be interested in it. most music nowadays is suggestive more so than a stirring up of the emotions...

Some times I feel like this, but I still run across some stuff I like and I'm an old head now....I'm 29. I can always find SOMETHING pretty good, but R&B is what I find to really be lacking. Way more so than hip hop. If you were one of those cats that never was too deep into hip hop but instead loved your R&B from about 92 to 99, sh!t you may as well go jump off a bridge nowadays. I don't care what nobody says Trey Songz is mediocre at best.

:wtf: that's one of the most relatable songs, but you quote lines that are personable to him.

You don't relate to:

"I done kept it real from the jump"

"We just want the credit where it's due/I’ma worry about me, give a fukk about you"

"Say I never struggled, wasn't hungry, yeah, I doubt it, nikka"

"No new nikkas, nikka we don't feel that
fukk a fake friend, where you real friends at?
We don't like to do too much explaining
Story stays the same I never changed it"

"Started from the bottom now we're here
Started from the bottom now my whole team fukking here":blessed:

I dont think music is gettin' worse... Its just people growin' up, gettin' responsabilities and findin' other things in life that amuze them...

Im 25 next week, and its just not music thats not as appealling to me as it was before... its tv shows, movies, certain hobbies...

I can only think of sports retainin' as much of my attention now as it did before...

dont sugar coat it. it is getting worse. these are people in their mid 20's crying about current music. ask the dude in his 30's, 40's did he love the music he listened to in his mid 20's and was he listening to current stuff then or just old stuff he grew up with from 0 - 25.

i guarantee you 99.9% of them will tell you. they LOVED their music, even the current music when they were 25.

the music all around not just hiphop is HOT GARBAGE right now. EVERYONE knows it. thats why you hear so many people say it nowadays(old and young).

i have never heard this many people say they aint feeling the current stuff then i have at this point in time. it trash folks. it is what it is. the sooner you recognize its trash and call a spade a spade. it will change. the artists are You and me, your homeboy, the chick that lives across the street. If yall grow up listening to trash claiming its hot. you will then go out and make music thats trash as well. if you realize and admit trash is trash. you will put better art out there. so the next gen will come along listening to you and make better music. wash, rinse, and repeat.

this below is Earl clark of the Lakers talking to a reporter named Mike trudell.

MT: Before you start your Ironik kick, what are you listening to these days?

Clark: I'm listening to the new Nas album, "Life is Good." I listen to a lot of Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Beanie Sigel and stuff like that. I like real music that's actually talking about something. I like the craft of rap – artists saying something clever instead of just looking for a hook. I like when guys are trying to kill something on a verse, when they're competing with other rappers.

^^you see that. earl is approx 25 years old right now. same story.

same here. mid 20s, and 95% of the commercial music out there today is trash. 95% of what i listen to is old sh1t like old soul, golden era hiphop, early 2000s hiphop, new jack swing, motown, hiphop soul from the 90s, 80 sh1t, some house etc.

there's only a handful of "new" stuff i listen to, and that sh1t is not rarely ever played on the radio.

Nope.
Stop listening to the radio and use the Internet more for seeking out current artists putting out good/great music.

You can avoid will.i.am and shyt like that easily.

This ain't 2007 anymore. Its 2013 and the highest selling dude is a lyrical dude by the name of Kendrick Lamar. Autotune outside of Future is gone. That fake gangsta shyt is dead. On top of many youngins can actually perform a good live show. It ain't all doom and gloom anymore.
