so what? ...doesn't change his come up, tons of artists have the machine behind them and still fail regardless of how the story is played up they still need to capture an audience. Hiipower movement did that for Kenny.. that's everyone from Wiz to Mac Miller even Nipsey etc. That's been the go to industry move for the last decade in marketing. Only fake armchair execs care bout the details it doesn't affect the music or the masses for them perception is reality. Go back to the 90's and your average artist had a huge development time between demo signing and album release. Old tactic new approach, fans want to feel like they discover new talent and build up the artist n be a part of the come-up story.
you made a false statement, and you were corrected.
that should be the end of the discussion.
and I don't think you understand. let me be more clear. this isn't artist development.
Kendrick was signed to aftermath, while pretending to be independent. all of his so-called underground fame was really the labels paying off the blogs and all of these other internet & media outlets, posturing him as some sort of underground king.
same thing with wiz khalifa, who was the blueprint for these modern web plants, and all these blog rappers(whether plants or not) who followed.
nipsey was LEGIT independent. you cant compare them to nipsey.
I don't know much about mac miller. I think hes legit indie, but hes white so......
