Am I crazy to think Dead Prez debut is better than every Kendrick Lamar album?

I can play Let's Get Free over any Kendrick album. GKMC is close but other than that, I got Dead Prez over everything else he's ever dropped.

Facts.

Kendrick can't make a RBG

It's a great album but I have no problem with Kendrick.

He gets the typical hate for someone who blew up from an underground favorite... Dead Prez never touched that level of consistency ever again. Kendrick is very consistent with his output. Look at J. Coles albums if you wanna see someone who is middle ground to mediocre but still has a solid fanbase.

First 3 albums are on point. Musicallly on point too.

"I went to school wit some redneck kkkrackaz...."

I was in college when we first heard that line. That opening line to a song is some of the realest shyt ever spit on wax. It didn't even need a punchline or nothin....lol. We was starvin for some real shyt before DP dropped that debut.

Yeah, Kendrick was/is cool, he was pop rocks. Them Africans was napalm....No muthafukkin bullshyt.

i dont think so production wise.

as far as lyrical content, too different to compare i guess it depends on what you value as an individual. dp has a firm ideology that is the basis of all their music. kendrick seems uncertain and tends to question a lot of ideologies, and also makes party and bullshyt, love songs, etc. all classics though on both sides. they should collab that would be amazing

Hell fukkin NO you’re not crazy. That shyt is better than all of Kendrick’s albums and many, many others IMO.

The intro and I’m a African to start an album off alone >>>>>>>>>>

oddball match up imo. dead prez was way more revolutionary and political in their music. kendrick is introspective and hood conscious.

i'd rock with LGF because of how dope of an album that is, but kdot got some good shyt too.

I think this is the Booth's problem with Kendrick...they want him to channel to Public Enemy and Ice Cube with angry "fukk white people" records when his music is more about raising questions or leaving things to your own interpretation rather than "I AM THIS!"

Kendrick music can be swallowed easy by the mainstream. He's harmless and cacs adore him.
Now DP..

mhmm... i be wondering if they really bout it though...or do they just demand that rappers portray these ideologies

:jbhmm:

cuz even those people like Chuck, Cube and Dead Prez, you see they support kendrick to the fullest and recognize his intentions.
