We have so much history and so many people with money and it's either slave movies or some Tyler Perry bs. The movies like Posse(real black cowboys), red tails and others are far and few.. All the great kings and warriors from our past and their stories are not being told. But but but we had black panther, , tell the story of who he was based upon Mansa Musa and Changamire Dombo , the real Hannibal, the great queens without being white casted, the list goes on and on. I'll take the and"what are you doing about it" comments but seriously I can't be the only one tired of this shyt. I do teach my kids about where they come from, let my daughter know then women in black panther were based upon female warriors Dahomey, and all.

Hollywood isn't greenlighting any Movies or TV Shows that show Black People in an empowering and positive light. It'll be this way for a long time until we make our own Hollywood or crowd fund Black Projects or Studios dedicated to making positive content for Black People.

Films cost money. There aren’t enough black people financing films, so we get stuck with whatever Hollywood chooses to give us. And black entertainers are not opening up their pockets creating more film production companies, and are more than willing to play the game to get ahead.

People were going in on Godfrey for wanted to do Joe Rogan’s podcast, but that’s something that will propel him to the next level, and give him a bigger audience. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough of us in high places.

You’ll go crazy trying to control things you can’t control.

You want your kids to be in front of good positive media? Find the media that already exists and show it to them, rather than worrying about new media being created for them

Best thing to do is stack your money, raise your kids to raise their kids and stack their money so that generation can spend time creating art

I remember being a kid and asking my dad why Disney sitcoms usually only had one Black kid in the cast, he told me we were 13% of the population and didn't control the media and that was good enough for me tbh.

Might be reductive, and I fully hear and share your sentiment, but media representation shouldn't be a pressing issue, we're behind everyone but native americans and symbolism is dangled in front of us every so often in a bullshyt attempt to shut ppl up.

Some brehs (not saying you OP) really think rebooting the 90's and wearing suits on TV is reversing centuries of bullshyt
